Bowden's Own Summer Pleasure Box $49 + $9.90 Delivery ($0 C&C), 30% off Full Price Bowden's Own Products @ Repco

280

I think this pack has been on clearance for a little while but still seems to be a fair bit of stock around.
Great value at $49. There's about $100 worth of stuff in there, even at 30% off, it's around $70 for the 4 items you can buy separately.

  • Bowden's Own Nanolicious Wash - This car wash is super lubricating with amazing cleaning power, yet gentle to modern paints providing deep, effective cleaning, protection and restoration for any quality wax or other coating that is already present.
  • Bowden's Own Wet Dreams - A fantastic protective sealant that is best used at the end of a wash. Ideal for those who want a quick boost of shine and super hydrophobic paint protection when they detail their cars.
  • Bowden's Own Shagamittastic Wash Mitt - Safely removes funk and grime from your paint, holding it deep in the material until it's rinsed out to prevent annoying swirl marks.
  • Bowden's Own Big Sofite - A short pile, soft microfibre, ideal for removing wax, cleanser, polish, detailing sprays and glass cleaners from delicate surfaces.
  • Bowden's Own Popped Cherry Air Freshener - The first air freshener in Bowden's Own Range is sure to leave your interior smelling clean and fresh, the perfect finishing touch after giving your car a good wash.

Currently 30% off everything else Bowden's that is full priced until tomorrow. Not the best it's been but still a good saving….Cashrewards also have huge 2% CB

It’s not a deal because you can spend less when buying the products individually

    • +3

It's about $70 buying everything individually (excluding the air freshener because they don't sell it)…

      • $49 currently at Repco, so basically just free air freshener. Okay if you like these products

        • +8

          Nano wash $14.70
          Wash mitt $21
          Wet Dreams $24.50
          Big Softie $9.80

Total is $70 exactly and those prices are including the current 30% off. You can save another $2.10 if you buy the Wet Dreams and Big Softie together in a pack.
So buying this is saving you about $20 off the already discounted price as well as the free air freshener.

          • +1

@whitelie: Apologies. I missed the wash mitt. Wasn't in Repco's images.

      Show us your arithmetic.

This is not the pleasure box I was hoping for…

      The whole thing is perverted

      • -3

It's an extremely lame (and completely pitiful) marketing attempt that has failed miserably in my opinion.

        • +2

Not sure it failed. 400+ clicks on ozbargain and growing by the second. I'm not getting one but it'll probably end up being a winner for them.

          • @seamonkey: 400 clicks means nothing. For the most part, you'll likely find they just wanted to look to see what it was.

  • The value is enticing, but how good are these products?

  • Was hoping that they were going to release the Popped cherry fragrance as a regular part of their product line-up, but apparently it's exclusive to this box.

Popped Cherry has a luscious dark cherry fragrance with subtle hints of other wanky scents to help spice up your car loving life.

Guess there's lots of other cherry scent air fresheners out there, but was curious to see how this one was like and how long it would last. Oh well.

    • Wanky scents in the car, er no ta….

  • $28 seems like the new best price for the Big Green Sucker.

    • Not far off the mark, 30% is probably as good as it's been so far this year. Has been ~40% off previously but that's likely been 6 months or so ago now?
I grabbed mine when they came up at half price but that's once a year if you're lucky

      • What was the lowest price?

        • +1

Has been half price a couple of times before, just under $20 but a long time ago and maybe once a year if that. They come up for $25 every now and then but I mean if you need one, I could still justify paying $28 for one, they're great towels.

      Why?
Bowden's Own is a car cleaning product brand
Repco is a car parts store
It's posted in the Automotive section

Did you come in here expecting some other kind of bargain box?

        • +5

How many previous Bowden's Own deals have "car stuff" in the title? Zero
It doesn't need the category in the title when it's posted in the correct section.

        • +2

lol did "pleasure box" make you think this was some kind of other deal :P

  • Anyone recommendations for simple interior plastic cleaner and exterior carwash for an i30 I'm selling?

    • +1

If it's just to clean the car up and sell it, get the cheapest stuff you can find. If you want something that you can actually use on your next car, Vinyl Care is good for the interior. May need Orange Agent if it's really dirty but that VC will clean and protect.

Shampoo I like Bowden's Nano, Wash Wax or if washing in the sun, go with Auto Body Gel

    • I would be doing a cut and polish myself on it and going all out.. I know once done it would look like new and I could get an extra $3000 for it.

If you don't have the products then I'd be getting it done somewhere. Usually around $180-$200.

People even say my car looks like new and it's 2010!

As for interior cleaner I'd be using:
      303 interior cleaner - $20

      Seals and door trims:
      303 Protectant $22

      Wheels:
      Bowdens wheely clean
      Meguiar's Performance Tyre Gel $22 @ Supercheap

      Shampoo and wax:
      Bowdens nanolicious

      Cut and polish:
      Bowdens Clay Bar - $13
Mothers CMX polish and coat $27 @ Supercheap

      For carpets and seats:
Bissell spot cleaner with Bissell products.

It will look like new after this ^

    • Ranga:
For the interior a bucket of water with a dash of kitchen detergent (or generic woolwash - without additives) followed by a protectant (303, Armor All etc) applied to all plastic and rubber, inside and out.

Assuming your duco is in good nick, use any cheap car wash, rinse off well, follow with an application of Turtle Wax Seal n Shine $18.89. Don't be shy on the TW and use plenty of elbow grease to buff it up. Ideally wash and wax in shade.

  • Savings have now doubled to over $100 since the 30% off has ended. This is a very good deal. Very good for a maintenance wash, if you don't have anything else.

    • Isn't the rrp on the 4 items about $100 so the saving is $50? Plus the air freshener (which I don't really care for TBH)

      • Yes, you're right!
        Bowden's Own Nanolicious Wash 500ml - 22
        Bowden's Own Wet Dreams - 35
        Bowden's Own Shagamittastic Wash Mitt - 30
        Bowden's Own Big Softie - 14
Bowden's Own Popped Cherry Air Freshener - 10 (maybe)

        So $111!

  • @whitelie - I want to do a detail on a 2 year old car that has NEVER been waxed. I have boss gloss, fully slick, lazy wax, turtle wax, and a few others. The box for this product says to wash->wet dreams->dry with boss gloss->after glow.

I was thinking wash->iron remover->clay->wax-> (open to suggestions).

    • +1

If you have Bowden's clay rubber, you can decon and clay in the same step but yes, I'd decon if you can, clay at the least.

You can layer the wet dreams over lazy wax, just give it enough time to cure. Will be a lot more hydrophobic. Same with Fully Slick or use FS after WD for that extra slickness. Heaps of ways to skin a cat. Check out their flow chart if you're a bit confused

  • Cheers for the link mate, that'll deffo come in handy! I don't have the clay rubber, I have Meg's Clay Kit so will make do with that until the clay runs out.

Is there any difference between Autoglym Vinyl & Rubber Care & BO's Vinyl Care ?

I have BO's VC and don't want to buy the AG if I can help it. I want to give a nice clean black look to the interior rubber door beadings, the exterior plastics, window trim, wiper blade mechanisms, mud flaps, etc.

    • Haven't used the Autoglym myself so can't say. Vinyl Care works well but Vinyl Revival will give a darker finish. If the exterior plastics are faded, look in the Bowden's Mr Black/Black Box kit as it will dye the plastic back like new. Awesome stuff but doesn't help you now the sale is over! You can get Mr Black on it's own but it's better in the kit as the Flash Prep will remove anything you have used on them previously and give longer lasting results.

      • I've added it to my watch list, cheers. I'm in no rush, a bit longer of a wait won't kill me.

        Cheers!
