40" 100hz 3D LED-LCD TV from Sony for less than $800!
Online Only Price, is $996 in store. Ends Christmas Day.
Has Smart TV, 3D (no glasses inc.), 100hz and "Motion Flow 200" (Sony marketing mumbo-jumbo).
Personally I'm hoping for the Samsung UA40D6000 for the same price, hopefully this can be a bargain for someone though

The motion flow stuff means that the TV backlight flashes at 200Hz, while the screen refreshes at 100Hz.
Are you sure about that??? I was under the impression that it just interpolates an additional two frames over and above the one it does for 100Hz?
[edit] Ah, I see now. What you're talking about is Motionflow Pro, this is just Motionflow 200…which is actually just Sony marketing mumbo-jumbo as the OP suggests! It would be interesting to see how the flashing backlight in the Pro version works though…provided there's a ready supply of anti-convulsants on hand! :p
no glasses??? really…
Presumably you can still use it as a regular 2D TV without the glasses. Personally, I was thinking of getting this OHKI:

http://www.ohki.com.au/index.php/hot-deals/ohki-42-full-hd-3…The review of the OHKI isn't entirely positive, but for $499 with 4 glasses included it seemed like a reasonable deal for someone who doesn't watch much TV, but would like to watch the occasional 3D movie.
IIRC the Ohki uses passive glasses (ala RealD etc), which would be kind of cool if it works well, and cheap to buy more glasses too! ;)
$200 more gets you a 100hz 55" Sony TV
Link?
if you searched the key descriptions you'll find
Thanks. I searched KDL55EX720. Assumed yada meant the 55" version of this model (and I was really excited) haha
KDL55EX500 for $995 is pretty tempting too. Only $99 for 5yrs warranty….
What to do, what to do :)
The motion flow stuff means that the TV backlight flashes at 200Hz, while the screen refreshes at 100Hz. No idea if it really helps, but at least it refers to something meaningful.
Not a bad deal on the TV, but I think there's better options for the money. Panasonic TH-L42E30A (decent picture, no 3D), Samsung UA40D6000 (better picture, good file playing support I think), and the LG 42LW5700 (reasonable pic, passive 3D w/ 4 glasses included) would be smarter moves at this price/size IMO if you want an LED.
