  • The multifunction gateway can change 16,000,000 various colours, built-in colour changing lights and speaker

This description refers to old hub, the new one V3 (which this is) has neither a speaker nor lights.

The old one was only a zigbee WiFi hub. This one is WiFi, zigbee 3.0 and Bluetooth compatible.

A good buy as the hub alone is around $40 from Ali.

    • thanks for the update, I just copied and paste from previous post.

      • Oh ok, yeah, they copied it from a webpage listing that referred to the old model.

I didn't even know auspost sold xiaomi.

  • Is the xiaomi smart home kit supporting international server now?
I bought it years ago and it was only supporting China server at that time

    • If it's being sold by AusPost surely it's gotta be.

    • Does it mean it doesn't work overseas or just slow as communication needs to go back to China server first?

    • Now supports US and euro servers.

I'm still using the China mainland server with my version 1 hub.

    • Does this device need to be used with an internet facing server?
If im running Home Automation Core can i just use this as a sensor with that?

  • I got the same over the weekend, its defintitely the newest model of the gateway support zigbee 3.0 and mesh bluetooth devices

  • There are a lot of devices that do not show up for connecting to the gateway if you set your region outside of China. If you buy an item and it doesn't show in the list of available items try changing to China mainland as the server. Although this really makes the app slow.

  • +1

It's likely to be all post offices, its been this price for a few weeks at my local in NSW.

  • Is this one worth getting or should I just get the latest version (if there is newer). Would be interested in the temp monitors

    • This is the latest set.

I have 6 temp monitors around the house. They work well, and surprisingly only need the battery changed once every 2 years.

On the downside its not supported by Google home or Alexa.

      • oh really? Was looking at getting it integrated into my google home infrastructure. That sucks

        • That sucks

Yep. Xiaomi light globes work with google home and Alexa, but wifi sockets and the home hub, and anything connected to the home hub don't. I hope that changes because the Xiaomi products are cheap and reliable.
