Buy 1 get 1 free is not the same as 50% off second item.

    Suppose items are $1 each.

Buy 1 get 1 free means I can get two items for Total $1

50% off second item means first item costs $1, and second costs $0.50. Total $1.50

If this were a genuine 50% off offer, it would allow me to get 1 item for $0.50. I don't think it does.

    • ^This. 50% off would be better (especially if you only need 1 cable) as you pay half the amount for one cable

On another note it's a shame Cable Connection doesn't stock any DisplayPort, desperately need a miniDP to DP cable (or regular + adapter), but no one seems to stock it for a reasonable price (see: less than $30)

      • try ebay

  • Meh.

  • Perhaps "two for the price of one" …

  • Is this a good deal people?

  • What's the cost for delivery?

    • I think around $7

    • $7.70 kind of kills the $4.95 deal.

  • Yeah, I'm looking for a long-as-heck HDMI 1.4a. ~10m-15m

EDIT: Wowee - at those prices, NO THANKS!

    • i bought a cheap 25 dollar premium cable 10 meters, elsewhere ran it under the house… no signal when its jobined (2x joiners or 1x joiner isnt much better). also bought one of these 10 meter hdmi cables from TCC when i bought the projector works fine no problems with a 1x joiner to the projector through the roof…

so yeah think ill spend a little more and get these cables again…

doesnt make a difference with smaller lengths, however as soon as you get to 10-15 meters you start getting data corruption.

now i got a spare 10 meter hdmi cable… wasted cash… ohh well if i dont use it with joiners it should work ok, will probably have to find another use for it.

      • opps :D i spent over 80 bux! at least i got value for money though as i bought a few cables! and at half price they end up being a really good price for premium cables. looking forward to finishing off the house wiring :D

        always a pleasure matt :)

  • I'm not far from the Scoresby store, might pop in and buy some today :)

  • Thanks for this Matt - just kept on asking away like a true OzBargainer and got the goods :)

  • Thanks, purchased.

  • where is this shipping from and is there a cutoff time for shipping out today?

    • Thanks guys!

Shipping is from Melbourne and cutoff is 2:00pm!

  • Hi guys,

Sorry I changed the title to 100% Off the secnd item (which makes more sense ;)

  • FYI got most of my cables last night, (still a couple to come)

changed my old "premium" cable over last night (which didnt work) to one of these platnum cables, with 2 instead of 1 connectors and it worked(connectors degrade the signal even more so to do it with 2 im even more impressed.)

I really think at this length the quality of the cable does make a bit of a difference. specially when your connecting them etc.

    my set up
PC to wall with a 1-2 meter DVI to HDMI cable (generic)
    wall plate HDMI connector
10meter platnum under the house to wall next to TV
    wall plate HDMI connector
    75CM platnum hdmi
    switcher (amplifier?) non powered http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/IR-remote-Control-mini-HDMI-Ampli…
    75CM platnum HDMI
    wall plate connector
10 Meter platnum (1.3B) connector (i bought from TCC when i bought my projector)
    Projector.

so good 25 meters of cable there with 3 wall plate joiners…
before i was having trouble with about 15 and 1 switcher just going to the TV, let alone the extra 10 to the projector.
