  • Good price…but…

Personally, I could never achieve 60 litres of carbonation from one of those cylinders.

Soda stream up to 60lt CO2 refill is $35….. 60lts (48x1.25lt) Woolies sparkling mineral water is $36…. just saying this may not be a bargain for some

…using your calculations, with a 10c refund with each bottle, $4.80

    • Good point. Thanks for the maths.

@congo, we have 1 and bought 1 for each family member, it saves on bottles, plus you have bubbly water when you want it.
Being organised by having 3 cold water bottles refrigerated, (ready to be bubbled) and have 2 x spare SS gas bottles, helps.

A new cylinder costs $35, an exchange is more like $20 https://www.kmart.com.au/product/60l-sodastream-co2-exchange…

      Replacement cylinders are $19

The real savings come when you refill your own bottle from a donor tank.

For $120 you can get 6kg co2 tank (containing 6kg of co2) and a refill adapter. That's enough for about 12-15 refills effectively giving you $10 refills.

Once you start refilling the donor tank, the price drops to $5 per 400g cylinder.

        Or get a 2.6kg CO2 gas-bottle or 6kg bottle and a Freedom One soda-stream adapter.

        • +1 for the freedomOne. I have one tank hooked up to that, another with the refill attachment for family and friends. A no brainier from a $ point of view.

        • Good suggestion.
Any further suggestion on refill cost for 2.6kg tank around Brisbane?

Saves all the plastic waste and lugging all those bottles around ;)
Agree though, 60L maybe a tad optimistic without ever knowing. Need a generous 4-5s pushes on the jet to get it fizzy enough.

    Still made on stolen land?

Would that be Australia, New Zealand, nearly all of Africa, North and South America, Pakistan, most of the Middle East and a fair chunk of Europe?

Let me guess, it was designed and manufactured using Arabic numerals, yet another example of cultural appropriation?

I bet you the computers used by the manufacturers were made with rare earth elements mined using unethical methods, too.

Sent from my iPhone, made using Uighur slave labor.

Reason I bought Sodaking, and it was a good price!

  • has anyone here done a breakeven analysis on this vs buying 99c Soda water from woolies?

    • +3

One day the only that will be left on our planet is plastic. At least with a sodastream you are using the same bottles over and over. Do they have glass soda stream bottles ?

      • +1

They do have glass sodastream bottles, but they are only compatible with one sodastream model (not this one). They are also 3x the price. A shame as glass would be nice to drink from.

Even less with the Latitude Pay 20 off $60 first spend.
