    Bugger !
Just bought the standard screwy type 2 days ago, couldn't justify the extra $30 as I was already spending a bunch on the adapter hose and 2.6kg co2 cylinder.

    • Wow. I think i would just switch to water

It's a good buy, it does go on sale regularly at this price, we have our purchased 4 as gifts for family 👍

  • $69 at Kmart everyday. Seen lots of stock in stores lately.
    Edit: different model apparently https://www.kmart.com.au/product/sodastream-sparkling-water-…

  • Seltzer?

    • "Someday, before I die, I would like to try seltzer water. To feel the bubbles tickling my tongue."

  • Any idea what the difference is between the Spirit and the Spirit one touch that is $149? I'm assuming just the amount of presses to carbonate?

The official Sodastream website wasn't too helpful.

Think the spirit works the same way other sodastream machines do.. you press something that mechanically opens the valve to let a burst of co2 into the bottle. The one touch is plugged into the mains and has three electronic buttons that activate some kind of solenoid inside a set number of times depending on what level of carbonation you want. I go tthe one touch for $99 on sale at bigw last year and like the convenience, but i guess there's more parts so more potential for failure at some point.

  • Seems like you'll save 50c/L using this. Maybe more if you use less fizzy.
For me that's probably 2 years of use. Will this last a lot longer than that?
Or should I wait for the $39 deal to one day come back.

    • Well remember you can swap the cylinder for $20. Compared to buying soft drinks it's incredibly cheap. Especially if all you want is soda water.

  • The problem is getting syrups, most of the time all I see lately is the cola (it's awful) and sometimes lemonade (that's pretty good but you need variety!)

Anyone know anywhere to get a variety of syrups for cheap?

  • Are all sodastream bottles the same? If I buy this can I buy a kit to refill?

      yep

      • So the bottles are all the same?

Do you mean the gas bottles or the water bottles? I believe all the water botles will fit this machine other than the smaller glass bottles, which I believe are for a specialised sodastream machine.

The gas bottles are all the same, the kegland refill kits should fit them all. I have a spirit one touch and the kegland hose works fine

Sodastream bottles aren't all the same. The slimline bottles don't fit in some machines.
