[PC, XB1, XSX] Ori and The Will of The Wisps (Digital) $13.18 @ Microsoft

880

Let me get this out of the way - Yes, it's on Game Pass!

For those who are not using Game Pass, the ditigal license can be better value than the disc as it's a Play Anywhere title - works on console (enhanced for XSX) and Win10 PC. AFAIK it's the cheapest that the digital license has been. Fantastic game, I won't bother repeat what's been said in previous posts. Enjoy!

Doh I only just bought this game on steam for $20 on the Christmas sales.

    Great deal thanks op

  • So torn on these sorta games, I want it in my library if it's ever removed from GPU.

Uggghh paying for games you already own….

Purchased on Steam today too. Believe the same price, or near enough.

    • As a game pass subscriber for the next 3 years, I can say certainly say that value is compelling. Especially since games produced by Microsoft Studios are unlikely to leave GPU.

But it's important to remember you don't own any of the games, you're simply renting them.

(Technically you don't own games purchased on Steam and other storefronts due to DRM. But that's another debate in and of itself.)

Price is low enough to tempt people to buy. Hard to resist I guess.

Anyway, just get $13+ worth of entertainment out of it and that would still be a good buy.

      • Yeah I caved, twice today. Steam too. Sigh

  • +3

Fingers crossed the price drops on Switch soon

    • +1

      This is on switch?

      • +2

Yes, came out Sept 2020. $45 though

        • Oh wow I thought it was an exclusive

This game blew my mind at first with the 120fps HDR. Then I adjusted to it :(

    • +2

Then you go and play everything else and it's so much more noticeable. :(

      • I legit thought it was the most amazing visual experience at first lol. Must have been dopamine. Never lasts though

  • Feeling ripped, paid $18.15 over the holidays

    • Did you play it?

      • I still need to finish the first game, I started it on Xbox One back in 2015

        • So you're probably not gonna get to it then

          • @Faro: Hopefully at some point, I played quite a bit in quarantine back in December

same price on steam as well

    • Thanks for the hint. Got it on steam👍

      • What's the benefit of getting it on Steam? MS you can play it on both PC and console, Steam is just console. Not having a go, wondering if I'm not getting something.

        • It's just my preference to purchase on steam when I can. I like the steam app and community, great customer service in my experience, most of my games, achievements and socials are on steam. But would gladly purchase on other platforms if the price is much better :)

        • Steam is just PC.

Though you could also play it on TV's throughout the house easily too. Not just in the PC.

        • Useful if you're gaming on linux, as you can make use of Proton via steam to play it and other games that don't have an official linux release. Ori runs quite well this way.

        • up to you in the end

    ditigal

    • Yes…? I noted it was digital in both the title and the description, not sure what you're getting at?

      • +1

I think he's talking about the typo in your description "ditigal license"

  • +2

Bought it for less than $6 lol.

Thanks for letting us know. Got time machine I can borrow?

      • You don't need a time machine. You need a Steam account of another country, which I happen to have got one (or you can VPN). I bought the game just this morning.

        • -1

Doesn’t help if people have Xbox one

        • -1

I could think of better things to do then managing multiple steam accounts just to save a few bucks. Let alone risking getting Steam angry.

  • The first one was pretty good.

  • +1

So this will work on both Windows and Xbox? Why aren't more games doing this??

    • Microsoft "owns" this game, therefore there is less licensing than, say, Assassin's Creed Valhalla for example

I'm midway though the Blind Forest. It's such an amazing experience visually and musically. Can't wait to finish it and get onto this. I'm hanging for Hollow Knight Silk Song.

    • Does the music change later on? It's the one thing that's stopped me progressing, I just find it so boring.

  • I 100% this game on gamepass when it came out and now bought it to somewhat support the devs for a masterpiece of a game.

    Bought it…. Thanks OP!

  • Hopefully this discount will come to the eshop
