I found they changed the promo from $59.99 OFF to $79.99 OFF, so that new customers can get 6 serves free with free shipping (First box total $0).

Personally, I enjoy their recipes, and it’s pretty convenient during the hard time of COVID.

Option 1 FREE ($75.93 OFF) – Choose 2 people and 3 recipes per week (6 serves in total). The total cost will be $0.

Option 2 Get the full $79.99 OFF – More serves than option 1, but you’ll need to pay extra above $79.99.

                • @Aidan9800: I haven't checked (as I didn't complete process), but it states every Saturday on the Order summary page.

          • +1

@chmod: Though hold on, I just realised that 30th of Jan is not Tuesday. I'm wondering why your first delivery isn't on a Tuesday. But oh well, I guess ensuring that you cancel by midnight on the day you receive the first box should still work as per the logic of the FAQ.

            • @Aidan9800: I was able to select my delivery schedule? I think by default it was Wednesday or Tuesday for me. But instead I chose Saturday.

              • @chmod: Ah okay fair enough. I'm getting mine between 9am-6pm on Tuesday 2nd of Feb, so I'll have at least 6 hours to cancel.

                • @Aidan9800: Gotcha. So in my case. I would have 30th of January, 31st of January, 1st of February, AND 2nd of February to cancel. That's how I understood it.

                  • @chmod: Yep agreed, that is how I interpret it in your case.

                    • @Aidan9800: Ok big thanks again. No wonder some people were complaining if by default they put it on the Tuesday, and then people would have couple of hours to cancel it prior. Cheeky.

                      • @chmod: Yeah no worries! I just set myself phone reminders to ensure I cancel it in time.

        • +4

Just skip all following weeks and cancel after you receive the first free order. Safer and easier.

          • +1

@MuddyClear: I was literally just about to post this haha, I did exactly that as well. Just makes it even safer indeed.

  • Sorry, we can't deliver to this area right now.

    :(

And now seeing this made me hungry. Great

  • Worked thanks OP

  • +1

Ordered, thanks for posting OP. First delivery is next Wednesday 3rd Feb so I've skipped delivery for the week after and plan to cancel next tuesday night. Hope I've got it right.

    • +4

You don’t have to cancel on Tuesday night (before your first delivery). You can skip 2-4 weeks in advance and cancel after your delivery as well!

      • +1

thanks, i've marked the following week as skip so that i can cancel after first delivery, cancelling prior to it makes me nervous cause i want my free food haha

  • +2

    Thanks OP!

I used a $79.99 code, ordered 3 meals x 2 people totalling $75.93. My receipt says the discount was $65.94, with an order price of $1? Not sure how that works. I was charged $1 so hopefully they don't charge me another $9.99…

    • +1

Same except I got a pending with no amount. Paid with MasterCard.

  • +2

FYI, I got panicked about being charged for the next delivery so I just cancelled straight away. And it said because the first delivery was already charged ($0 paid), so they will still be sending them.

And my plan now shows cancelled and no payment method left in the system anymore.

    • My mate cancelled immediately and got a refund ($10) instead XD (he had a $130 free box code but didn't include $10 delivery)

Let me know if you receive it in the end

  • -5

Order made. Immediately cancelled after processing. Delivery confirmed for this Saturday with no further deliveries. Thanks OP! Will be creating another account tomorrow and will deliver to my neighbour.

    • -2

ill be creating another account tomorrow and will deliver to my neighbour.

      For yourself?

Come on, don't be a low life.

  • Can't apply discount offer expired. Anyone else getting that?

    • Means that one has been used. Try next random referer.

      • Oh yeah works now thanks

    • It would appear that Hello Fresh have capped this at 25 referrals per referrer

  • -1

Delivery 12am to 6am. Strange delivery time. Imagine meat left at midnight for many hours. It will surely go off!

    • +1

They have an ice-cooled insulated envelope in the box.

    • +1

No it doesn’t. I ordered a few times and this was my preferred delivery window. The box was delivered around 1:30-3am and I would collect from the front door at 7am. With the cooler bag and ice blocks, all ingredients were fine (including meats)

  • -1

It not working for me, I signed up newly and choose veggie 3 meal plan 2 people. It shows total as 65$ and I get 30$ off and have to pay 35$.

  • Got charged $10 for regional delivery. Anyone else in WA got charged $10 ?

    • +1

Yep, I'm in WA and have to pay $9.95.

  • +1

thanks took a while to get a code that worked but happy to give it a go cheers

  • -2

I’m fused. How do you get the full $79.99 discount when you get the offer and go to the order page (next page after the offer)? For that price, how many meals do you get? OP says 6 serves which I presume is the same for both options.

    E.g I got the $79.99 discount and choose 2 people, 3 recipes per week but it’s only $75.93. But when I choose 4 recipes per week, it’s actually $79.99. I don’t get it…

    • poor skilled coding (Programming and programmers lol)

    • +3

      There’s nothing confusing about it.

The coupon entitles you to a maximum discount of $79.99. If you choose any plan above the 2 person/3 meals plan, you will have to fork out your own money.

If you stick to the 2p/3m plan then it is completely free.

  • Is it new subscribers only? Or can people who already have an account get a free box?

    • New accounts

    • Seems like new customers only. I tried it with an existing subscriber account and it would tell me that the coupon has ‘expired’ (in fact, the message persists even for new accounts, until you clear your browser cookies).

  • +3

If you don’t plan on renewing, make sure you set a reminder to cancel AFTER your first box has been delivered.

If you cancel before that, I think even your first box won’t arrive.

    • Big no no cancel before it arrives I learnt the hard way. They charge you for the second box an hour before the first box is delivered so you don’t remember!

      • Really? I remember cancelling the next day and I wasn’t charged. They must have changed things.

Edit: I just checked the app and it says “changes made will affect your next delivery starting on 6th Feb”. Wouldn’t that mean cancelling now will cancel even the first box?

        • +3

Just skip the next 2 weeks after your order date so they can’t charge you. Once you get your order cancel it.

          • @Jumpup: Thanks, just skipped the following weeks!

            • +1

@P1xellat3d: All comments above aren’t accurate.

The deadline for NEXT order is always Tuesday 11:59pm. So if you order a box, just make sure you cancel by Tuesday 11:59pm for next week’s order

      • This depends entirely which day you order your delivery for. If your box comes on Saturday and they charge on the following Tuesday, there's no problem waiting until your box arrives on Saturday before cancelling. If your box arrives on Wednesday, then you will be charged the day prior for the next box. Does that make sense?

  • Looks like it's been Ozbargained…"Cannot apply discount as offer has expired".

    • Got same error now

Edit - got it working using an email link instead

    • Try a new browser session in incognito.

    Thanks for posting, OP.
I have ordered from HF a few times, still have an active subscription. Happy to help others if any questions on “how to cancel before getting charged” or general FAQs re “ingredients” or best delivery day/time (to ensure freshest batch of salmon/chicken etc.) - just send me a PM & I’ll try my best to reply promptly.

Some tips here - don’t order the pasta dishes as they are the least “value for money”. Focus on chicken, salmon and tofu/halloumi if you’re vegetarian. Also avoid the upsize (e.g. $5.99 extra per serve for steak —> if you’re ordering serving size for 4ppl, that’s $23.96 extra in addition to the cost of the regular plan!)

I’ve also added my referral to the randomiser & suggest others do the same (if you’re having trouble with the referral link, it’s likely due to the fact that their system flags too many clicks on a specific link as spam/fraud and therefore may result in “invalid or “expired” error messages)

Also good for others to note
    - HF uses data from AusPost to check addresses. If someone at your house/previous tenant ordered and claimed a free box, you won’t be eligible (there are a few ways around this!)
    - there are rumours they also use phone number, IP, email to track and ensure you’re a legit “first-time customer”
    - there are a few tricks to obtain 4 free boxes under your account (worth $130-$159 each) which are designed for friends/family to try HF. I’ve learnt this via a Classifieds post here not long ago. Before you cancel your subscription after the first order, consider waiting a few extra days (you can skip future deliveries) so that you unlock the 4 free boxes on your account to share with fellow Ozbargainers!

  • Christ how many free meals they would need to give away

  • Why did they charge my PayPal $1?

    • mine charged as well.

      From HelloFresh website -

      Why am I seeing a $1 charge?

The $1 you may see at checkout is simply an authorization charge to verify the validity of the payment method you are using.

If you update your payment method on an active subscription, you will also see a $1 charge to verify the validity of the new payment method you are using.

Rest assured, however, this dollar will be returned to you.

      • Thanks for the info, much appreciated.

I always laugh whenever I hear Hello 'fresh' when they seem to be anything but now.
We used them for a while after the birth if our first child, just took the stress and hassle out of dinner and the quality was OK.

Have since tried them a few more times when they entice us back with 50% off boxes, and the quality is remarkably worse, sometimes verging on stuff you might see in produce throw out bins.
Carrots that you can tie in a knot, black and slimey herbs, chicken with a real smell to the point where its a risk using it.

Even with a free box I struggle to see the bargain.

  • +1

P.S. Not looking for any referrals.
    Trying to help other ozbargainers.

When you click the referral link provided in the post, if it says the offer has expired, then go to checkout and apply the promo code.
Check your URL (address bar), copy the code that starts after "c=" and ends before "&".

Another P.S. That promo code is not mine, not associated with me in any way. I am assuming it would be the OP's promo code if you click on his referral link

    • May I ask how does it work?
I tried to add promo code at checkout and it's saying "That promo is not applicable. Please try another code."

    • I tried that but it doesn't let you put the last letter in there. It says 'Error: Verification error - wrong format" when you click 'Save' to save your referral code.

  • I have added my promo code for $79 in the random generator..

    • Yeah hopefully everyone else gets a fair go, and not just everyone clicking through OP's link. It's give $79 but also get $79 so with 500 sign ups it's like $40k in credit for one person 😂

      • he posted the deal and discovered the promo code. But yes, $40k is a bit too much. haha

  • I just clicked on the referral randomizer a few times until I got one for 79.99, got me 3x meals free for in 1.5 weeks time.

    • Why click a few times?
All codes should currently get you $79.99

      • +1

Not everyone's code is worth as much, some are only 59.99, as also mentioned by others in this thread.

        • +1

Oh I see. My previous code was $59.99 but I’ve just added my $79.99 code now but the URL doesn’t seem to work anymore (via the Ozbargain link)

  • I'm trying to add my referral code to the referral links page as I have the $70 offer to share but it's not in the same format as the url there. Any suggestions?

    • Same Here! It looks like it needs to have an extra character in the refrerral box. There is only 11 spaces there. When I use 11 it only refers $44.95. When I add the 12th character in my referral, it will do the $79.99 offer. Can the Mods fix this up in the referral section?

      • How do only have 12 characters Sambuca? After the referral code url my code has the following??
        {removed personal code} &utm_campaign=native-share-panel&utm_couponvalue=70&utm_invitername=Sam&utm_medium=androidReferral&utm_source=raf-share

        • This part - {removed referral code} is your actual referral code. It only lets you put in {removed referral code}. If you try and add the E at the end, it says 'Error: Verification error - wrong format".

      • Fixed to allow either 8 or 9 characters.

        • My code still doesn’t work (when clicking on the link via OzBargain’s referral - it says “login”) 🥲

          • @ilikedeals: Your link works for me. You won't be able to see your referral link if you are logged into Hellofresh. Open your link in incognito and it should work.

  • Its making me pay $10 delivery at checkout any ideas?

    • Same for me but was because I'm in Perth and they count that as regional

      • Ah yes that could be why!

  • +2

Thanks OP. Got 3 free meals.

  • +1

Thanks OP! Signed up and added my $70 code to the system

  • Anyone not able to checkout? keeps saying i need to login to my original account. Ive never had a hellofresh account before. Ive tried clearing cookies and cache, vpning, using a diff card, fake phone no, 3 different emails. another name.

They really dont want me to try it

  • +2

Thanks OP, got some a free box first try.

  • +7

So my account says $1750 credits, how the fk is that even close to real and how do I use those credits?

    • hahaha that's amazing. Did you have your link above in the referals?

      • Yeah but definitely wasn't one of the first, there was around 300 referral codes when I signed up and 200 when this deal started.

        • I think it's pretty well randomized but more to the point people were clicking repeatedly to get to those who had the $79.99 offer. Maybe that was you and erego you might be eating free for a few weeks lol

          • +1

@MBix: I think loads more got it, whoever entered their code in that signed up for the $80 credit should get it. It maxes out after 25 referrals

            • +1

@TEER3X: I've also got the $70 credits as well associated with my account to giveaway (not $80).

I'm a very long term HelloFresh customer (weekly for 5 years).

My referral had expired in the ozbargain system and I only re-updated it at 11AM today. Since then I've had 4 referrals in 2 hours. With any luck it will keep pumping through as people keep signing up and I'll get to 25.

              • +2

                @muzzamo: Gotta love ozbargain referrals!

    • +1

It means a lot of people signed up with your code, either through here or some other platform if you've promoted it.

You'll eat for free until the credits run out

      • Would be great to see if OP eats free for life!! 😂👏🏽

        • 😂 entirely possible. Ive gotten about $6k in credits by the $50 referrals alone

          • @p1723: Where did you share your code? $6K means 120 people lol

  • Signed up for a free box yesterday and got the deal to send a $79.99 discount today to friends! Handy!

    • lol i got a link during sign up

  • For both of you to receive the credit on your next box, your friend must sign up for a new subscription using your unique referral code. Promotion ends Feb. 10th at midnight AEST/AEDT. Please note: you can send a max. of 20 invites.

  • I got a $79.99 code after I used a random referral from here, I've saved it in the referral wiki to share, but not sure if i did it correctly.
Is it just the code HS-xxxxx that you paste into the section and that adds me to the referral list? you dont paste the whole www.hellofresh etc link?
just trying to make sure another user can get the code properly

    • yes.. before the &

      • I think i've confused myself, thanks anyway, the format of entering in the referral is to only paste the HS code in, which I've done and it said it saved, hope it works for someone

        • you are on the right track. the code starts with HS and ends before &
