    back in stock

  • Any idea whether this comes with a proper AU plug or just an adapter?

    • +1

Have ordered two from Kogan in the past. It comes with an EU figure-8 cable with no adapter. They ship a (shorter) AU cable which tends to arrive about a week later.

      • Great! Thanks for confirming.

      • got mine today, kettle-cord/figure-8 but not AU plug

        • I got tracking for the plug. Just wondering does your one (or anyone else that bought) require a signature?

          • @Applause: Just got my tracking for the plug - ETA 2 days, will advise when arrives

            • @Minimum-Chips: Did you pay for express shipping? Mine is just showing that it has been dispatched from their overseas depot - is this normal for Kogan?

Got a feeling this is going to take weeks to arrive….another heatwave coming to Perth at the end of this week!

            • @Minimum-Chips: Didn't see your answer. Reason I ask is usually they haven't required a signature for me but I've had a kogan parcel stolen from my front door so I wonder if they've put me on a list to require signatures. I can see from the tracking number that it needs a signature.

              • @Applause: didn't sign for my fan, but my delivery guy knows me, saw me through a window and just dropped and ran.
I still have not received my AU plug.

  • Got one

  • How does this compared to a vornado dc fan?

  • +2

Just a heads up. I bought one from Kogan last sale. It didn’t my come with AU power cable, but Kogan posted one separately which arrived 1-2 days later. This cable: https://www.centrecom.com.au/alogic-2-meter-power-cord-2-pin…

    • I paid the extra $5.00 for Express Shipping, looks like they sent the fan express but the power cable it needs regular..

  • i have 2 of these, with and without battery.

Great fans. small in size and enough for my use.

Should grab one to try if you need a DC fan.

Kogan premium Dc fans is better choice for bigger fans but you can't remotely turn on.

  • +3

For people saying this fan is overpriced - it's definitely worth it. Very quiet, portable, can be controlled using smartphone and more importantly, it's a DC Fan.
DC fans consume less electricity compared to your cheap kmart/bunnings one and you'll recoup the $99 cost over time.

  • ordered one. thanks OP.

  • a fan that runs on battery? ok i get the use case, but is there a version that can be connected directly to electricity? and can this wind mode be turned off for continues air flow?

    • +1

it can be plugged in or run on battery. And yes, it can work as a constant blowing fan as well as using wind mode.

      • yeh but doesn't that cause long term damage to the battery to have it constantly plugged in? can i take the battery out or is there a kill switch for the battery?

        • can i take the battery out

NNOP has already answered your question above in this deal post https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/9986709/redir

        • No long term damage if constantly plugged in, that was 90’s tech. Smartphones and any modern Li-on tech is fine left plugged in all the time. The battery will have more remaining life after a few years than a device that is constantly used on battery

          • @antik: Lol, my relos still unplug stuff to 'prolong it's lifespan'. God knows if it does anything. 🤷‍♀️

            • @Skinnerr: Ha do they disconnect the car battery after each drive?

    • You can still use the fan while it's connected to wall socket

  • +1

    Great fan. Definitely recommend.

  • anyone know when will australia get the v3 variant of this? https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/06/01/smartmi-dc-inverter-fl…

    • Kogan were selling this late last year but looks all out of stock atm

    • Bought a v3 from kogan on Black Friday weekend. Got an email in Dec to say it’d delayed and would be dispatched today 22/2. Got another email today saying it’s now delayed to 19/02.

      1/10 do not recommend

      • wow that sucks! hopefully you get it soon!

  • +1

Any work arounds to make another kogan first account? Used my free trial last year.

    • another email with a temp mobile number?

  • This is even cheaper that the official Chinese site that's selling it in China (¥559 - $118ish), been always waiting for it, pretty awesome deal!

  • +2

Bought one due to peer pressure from ozbargain!

Better be as good as they say else I'll be back to flame everyone :D

  • how do i cancel kogan first? Will it automatically deduct from credit card after 14 days?

    • nvm figured it out :D

  • Now OOS

  • damn it missed!

  • I got an email saying beside the fan that I bought yesterday, another item— Figure 8 Power Cable (Black) has also been shipped. Could this cable be for australian plug? But I wonder why they shipped a black colour one?! Isn't the fan white colour.

  • You can purchase a remote control from AliExpress for ~$15 Delivered

    • Would you just use the app?

      • I'm using mine as a bedroom fan.
I'm not going to unlock my phone and use the app when I need to turn it on/off in the middle of the night. I ordered a remote control for that reason

  • back in stock again - but posts on 31 Mar

    • +2

Which by that point, you won't need a fan where I am (Melbourne). Looks like I'll be holding off on this until next summer!

    • So not really back in stock then.

    • Updated to 'Ships on 26th Feb.'

  • +1

Anyone know of anywhere I can buy this fan from to be delivered in the next week or so? Doesn't need to be this exact price.

  • Hopefully, they've fixed the poor battery performance by now, my 2S that's six months old lasts 3-4 hours on medium

  • In people’s experience, does the stuff on presale arrive before the presale date? Tossing up whether this will still arrive before the warm weather disappears or to hold off until later in the year…

  • Thanks OP. Got one.

  • Seems to be showing 129? Anyone having the same issue?

    • +1

Looks like the deals over buddy

  • Maybe next summer

  • Mine was dispatched today.

  • Please provide feedback on this fan. Does it make any clicking or snapping noise as it changes oscillation direction? I like my fan to oscillate and stay quiet but a lot of fans are noisy when oscillating, which disturb my sleep. Thanks

    • +1

It is very very quiet, no clicking sound at all. Until the speed of 50, you can barely tell that its even ON.

  • +1

Has anyone who purchased this before it went on presale not gotten their fan?

Still waiting on mine and says Estimated shipping 4 Feb.

Contacted Kogan and they gave a pretty generic response.

    • +1

Yes, I had estimated dispatch date of Feb 4 and I messaged them last night in hope to get the $10 credit benefit and received this unfortunate message minutes ago. I still do want it though and have asked for the shipping to be upgraded so it arrives quicker once it get to them.

Although I have been looking at their portable and window wall air conditioners recently and I'm not sure yet but I might ask to get a credit to get one.

      Thanks for your email.

I understand that this experience is less than ideal and I again apologise for the inconvenience this has caused. Allow me to assist you.

After following up on your order I can confirm that there has been a delay in receiving the stock to our warehouse.

However, I have been informed that your Xiaomi Smartmi DC Conversion Pedestal Fan 2S is now expected to be dispatched on the 19th of March.

Once your order has left our warehouse, you will be sent a dispatch email with tracking information and courier details.

From dispatch, delivery usually occurs in 3-7 business days for metro areas or 4-10 business days to regional areas.

You can also log into your account here to view the latest tracking updates on any of your orders.

I sincerely apologise for this delay and the inconvenience it may cause, your patience and understanding is much appreciated.

If the timeframe is not suitable for you, please let us know how to proceed with your order and we'll be happy to assist.

And… No they can't add express shipping to order after it has been processed. When I bought this I had the option of paying for Kogan First for $1 more than paying for the shipping itself. I chose the shipping itself and I can clearly see that I chose the best option.

      • Thanks for this posting this mate. Part of the reason for posting this was to know if there were others in the same boat as I was.

Unfortunate to hear that it's more than a month's wait. Did they end up crediting you with $10?

        • +1

Yes, they did. I had to ask what my options were to get the $10 credit offer.

      • Oh wow, they clearly knew and just an email like saying 22nd March. Cancelling my order and getting my money back is the only option now.

  • Estimated ship out on 4th Feb., now telling me it delayed to 19th of March!
Great, a pedestal fan sounds just perfectly in time for Winter

  • Mine was 4 Feb, now it says they're running slightly behind. The order status is "Processing in warehouse". I'm not sure if it's really in their warehouse or still in Xiaomi's and I'm going to get it in Autumn too!

  • +1

Not sure about everyone one else but I didn't get it yet. Got the cable shipped…thanks Kogan

  • almost march and i still don’t have my bloody fan!

    • Ordered mine on the 22nd of January when it said shipping on the 4th of February, emailed them yesterday and they replied saying it'll now ship on the 22nd of March…. Cheers Kogan :/

  • My fan finally arrived on 31st March. Ordered way back in January.

  • Got mine today, very quiet fan compared to our $400 dyson…

One stupid design is that it can't extend in height!!!!!!!!

    WtF were there designers thinking?

    • i got it recently as well - it is quiet in settings 1 & 2 alone - but doesnt push any air at all.
Go to 3/4 - has good throw, it is very noisy and no less than Kmart fans.
