Holy shiver me' timbers I want this. I'd definitely replace the flooring in my home with the completed puzzle.

Seal it in resin, otherwise the first lot of visitors will leave you with a whole lot of puzzling to do…

Disney Mickey through The Years 40320pc Jigsaw Puzzle

The finished high quality 40000 piece cardboard jigsaw puzzle

So it is missing 320 pieces?

      that's why it's discounted

Includes blanks if you loose pieces? How frustrating would it be if it was Missing 1 piece… My OCD would prob make me order a whole other complete set just to make it complete

        https://www.ravensburger.org/uk/service/faqs/index.html

Standard 2D Cardboard Puzzles - 9000 pieces or more

What to do if you've lost a puzzle piece?
We produce far fewer puzzles containing 9,000 to 40,000 pieces therefore the cutters are rarely replaced, if at all. Subsequently, matching replacement pieces, is possible.
To enable us to supply the correct replacement piece, we will require the following:

        (1) Details of the barcode number shown printed on the side of the box lid?
        (2) In which puzzle quadrant (A, B, C, D) is the missing piece?
        (3) Details of the corresponding control number found printed on the plastic bag?
        (4) Grid reference for the missing piece? Top/Bottom - Left/Right (e.g. 3 down 8 across) (5) Images highlighting area surrounding the missing piece (close up and from overall)
        (6) Your name and full postal address, including county and postcode.

Once this information has been gathered, your details will be forwarded onto our parent company in Germany who will deal with your request. Please be aware, depending on availability, we are not always able to supply replacement pieces.

This just looks like ten 1.5x1m puzzles stitched together in MS Paint

      • +2

They give you the panels in separate bags too (according to a video about it I watched), so you can do them separately.

        • +7

Mix them up for months of fun

"kids, you can have a PS5 once you finish this puzzle .."

    • +12

      Think it'll be a PS10 by then

    • +7

More like sorry kids no PS5…spent the money on a 40000 piece puzzle….loll

      • +2

In terms of "hours of engagement per dollar" this would probably come out on top!

  • There is also the Ravensburger 17826 Disney Moments Filmstrip puzzle which has 40320 pieces, but not on special so $1569.54.

  • +5

    Box weight almost 20kg šŸ¤Æ

    • Thatā€™s the weight of a typical bag of cement, or a single mattress. What are the dimensions?

      • +2

        cement bags are generally

        25 Kg: 330 x 475 x 130 mm

    • +5

      This is heavy.

      • +6

        There's that word again, "heavy".

  • -5

$694 for a effing jigsaw puzzle!

    • +1

      That's only 0.017c a piece!

  • +20

The puzzle image itself is a little disappointing… it's a few (10) smaller images stitched together.

    • +3

I agree but maybe it would be almost impossible to finish a puzzle this large with just one image. You would have countless pieces all the same colour.

      • +1

They could still divide it up and give you the pieces for contiguous sections in separate bags like they do here, so that you can do it part by part. It would seem like you're building something bigger over time, more of an achievement. That said, I've never even done a 1000 piece puzzle so I don't know what the experience is like.

    • Agreed. "Through the Years" I was expecting it to flow from left to right slowly showing the evolution from old to new. This puzzle just looks boring.

  • +1

    6% cashback too.

  • +11

    Assembly Required No

  • +10

Pfft.. Do not like. If you're stitching 10 separate images together that's like cheating.

    • +2

You can open all 10 bags and mix them together. Nobody is stopping you.

      • +22

No, I mean the final picture. It looks crap because it's literally 10 pictures next to each other. It should be one big panorama.

        Wallet stays closed.

        • Depends on your taste. I'd prefer one panorama too, but this would still be nice.

        • +2

As mentioned above, I think the sheer epicness of a single puzzle this size would take a lifetime to compete! They could have bagged off arbitrary sections of a single image however…

  • hours of holiday fun

My team got this Mickey puzzle as a farewell gift for a departing member. Great for the kind of never-buy-for-yourself gift for puzzle-lovers. Note - it's huge - most people won't have space for the completed puzzle!

Kodak has a 51,300 piece puzzle with IMHO more interesting images here but that was unavailable at the time.

Old tech - this is a 40k puzzle.

But why, why would you do that to yourself…

  • This was $499 at EB/Zing during black Friday sales. Looks like they dont stock it any more. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/587062

Anyone found any harder puzzles than this? I find these 40k piece puzzles too easy and i finish it in about 2 hours.

    • +1

Are you a sorting machine or what? To do 40k pieces in 2 hours you would have to place ~ 5-6 pieces per second.

such a hard sell - terrible art for such a good idea.

  • Hi Ozbargainers

I have two clementoni panorama puzzles (99cm* 33cm). Anyone have an idea where we can find the frames for these types of puzzles?

    Thanks

    • +1

A picture framer. Yep - it costs some money. Guessing $500ea with art glass (that's the glass which is not reflective enough to show the outside world when in sunlight. Recommended - it's awesome).

P.s.: I really have little clue as to pricing. I got ripped on a bigger one than that for $800 without art glass. And some smaller ones maybe $150 each. But it kinda depends on whether they have to buy large glass sheets, twice as many mats, etc as the rates they are charged to purchase those things in odd sizes becomes an issue.. Like they'll get charged as if its 1m x 1m or whatever when you only want 1m x 33cm.. Its how the industry supply chain works).

Having two might actually help you because 1m x 66cm might fit the glass supply chain better.

  • must admit, this is so cool, pity the actual picture is pretty crap,

so has anyone seen one of these in the flesh completed?

and in all seriousness, what do you do with it once its completed??

frame it, put it on a solid back, stick it to a ceiling?

  • +1

    Reading through the small print:

    Assembly required: No

    Are you kidding me?!?

  • What exactly defines a puzzle? Can I stick together a bunch of smaller puzzles and beat the 40320pc record?

EDIT: Seems like false advertising, a quick google search reveals multiple 'record-breaking' puzzles larger than this.
