Only needs to drop another $500 to be at RRP !
Such a sad year for GPU's.
Who would have thought that the founders edition would be the absolute best price/performance card? It's gotten to the point where we question the point of partner cards, other than just being more supply.
Sad days.
Not sure.. seems very messy with the news about 3080 ti: https://www.hardwareheaven.com/rumor-another-bounce-on-the-3β¦
Mm interesting! Yeah it's a weird one - but I can still see it coming eventually.
10GB is just not compelling for the high end and 24 is too much
Australian dollar is getting stronger, thats why prices are dropping.
when the dollar gets stronger, usually the distributor pockets the difference. It's only when the dollar gets weaker that prices are adjusted.
Kogan is not a distributor, they directly import most of the electronics themselves, so not a comparable scenario.
Right. The distributor is the one who sold it to Kogan. They're the ones who won't be passing on the savings.
@lostn: I wouldnt be surprised if kogan bought it directly from pny themselves and bypassed the distributor all together.

that is one thicc card. At least taking up 3 slots, and pushing 4.
Can't imagine how thick cards will be in 2030.
Must be because of all the hormones in the chicken these days
ππππππ
I knew it…. I still have a PNY in use in a computer… bought a GTX 770 in 2014 for around $350.. thought then that was expensive :-)
I was given 2x titan x cards that can run in sli, thatβs a bargain in itself, how does that hold up to stuff like this, similar?
SLI is practically dead in modern releases. So most games will only utilise 1 GPU, also much less VRAM, no DLSS or RTX either.
Titan X should still run most games fine, just don't expect 60fps at 1440p+ in 2020 games such as Cyberpunk 2077 with the settings cranked.
The 3090 is not a good buy though, the 3080 makes a lot more sense, but is out of stock everywhere.
What happened with the development of SLI? It was ground breaking technology back then, why can't we do 2x3090 SLI?
In DirectX12 you can use multiple GPU support and enjoy your $5k+ worth of GPUs together. It's up to game developers to implement mGPU support however and there's very few games out there that do it which makes it pretty bad value for gaming!
You can use NVLink with the 3090 but really it's less about gaming and more about other computing uses.
@ShannonIngram: Right ok, so there will be a minimal increase in FPS between 1x3090 and 2x3090 because the game does not support sli?
@Homr: If its not supported, the game will only use 1 GPU. So zero.
@fatsqo: oh…..
@fatsqo: It's actually worse than that, with the 2080Ti when you had a SLI setup of two cards in a lot of modern games it actually drops performance to have it enabled down to the level of a single 2070 Super. Modern games just don't bother with it, dead end technology.
@Agret: spewin to the people who bought SLI setups in the past~~
LOL… similar? no.
This would be approx 3x faster than a Titan x. Most games won't use SLI, it's dead.
Ah shit, wow
Is it a Titan X or Titan X Pascal? Titan X is about GTX 1070 and Titan X Pascal is around GTX 1080 Ti. RTX 3090 is about 2x GTX 1080 Ti and 3x GTX 1070.
@Bigboomboom: Titan X :(
Use to be $2599 at mWave but they jacked it to $2699.
So cheap. LOL
Usually I hate PNY designs. This actually looks pretty good. Not read any reviews on its actual performance but it's better looking then the weird red accents from EVGA.
Still waiting on my launch day order of a $1259 EVGA 3080 Ultra FTW from PLE. Hope it comes before the next gen releases lol. Half tempted to get a 3090 because you can find them in stock but the value is just terrible. $1400 extra for 5-10% extra performance is shite
Omg I nearly pulled the trigger for that on launch from ple. Glad I didn't now.
I was going to order that day as well, but I probably would have canned it by now after that wait, combined with the 3070ti/3080ti higher VRAM card talk and the proposed RTX4000 Lovelace GPUs.
I've almost gone off the idea of upgrading during this madness, it's all too hard.
They will let me refund or swap to another so Iβm just waiting to see if something better comes out and maybe swap to that. I already purchased a water block though. Even considered trading down to a 3070 when they were in stock but thatβs 40% less performance and only ~$200 back in my pocket. The whole thing is annoying. Iβm sitting on a 5950X with 64gig ram and a (profanity) GTX1060 3gig card lol
I think it's worth waiting for it now, given that even if you get it and decide there's something better, there's so few 3080 cards available you can probably sell it for immediate delivery at a premium price. Agree the 3070 not great value IMO.
I was lucky that I went for a GTX1080 back in 2017 because it'll make it to the next gen.
Prices dropping across the board 3080 ti must be here soon!
