@sedi: Definitely within your rights to a refund if they mentioned 2-3 days anywhere, don't deliver and refuse refund. Your local fair trading authority will help or PayPal for instance.
@lukethefish: I contacted Thomastown store where my order was placed. And asked to cancel my order. There will be hundreds of persons who would have thought it will be delivered in a week, little did they know, it was a trap to hold 750 dollars and saying on the website - will be dispatched in 2-3 days.
I ordered one but I spoke to their customer support line and they told me that the ps5s became available as a result of a technical glitch and they aren't 100% sure when they will be getting stock which is very dodgy! Who knows when that will be
@Anonymous 7: Technical Glitch is very much in their favour isn't it. I believe its simply a trick to take money. Imagine 500 orders for $750 each.. Without any commitment to deliver the product.
That is a standard reply to dispatch 2-3 days after purchase. I have many experiences buying online from TGG for 75" TV, Mobile Phone, Headphones, Rice Cooker etc.
Agree, but if they are doing a pre-order, they MUST mention it clearly on the listing that the product is NOT IN STOCK, and it is a PRE-ORDER.

Not sure, there’s a link to their website on there…the black PS5 is $699 USD which is about $899 AUD which isn’t too bad considering that scalpers on eBay are asking+$1k for the white one. Limited to 304 units.

Ordered one. It doesn't say it's pre-order? Also we I tried to choose pick up and entered my postcode, it says it's more than 500km away from the store with stock. I assume they do have stock now?

I ordered and then called to check the what the deal is.
It is on back order and the sales consultant said maybe a month and half to fulfil. Not sure how accurate that is.
I'll keep it on back order unless a quicker delivery comes along. I can then cancel this back order.

was listed 3-7 day delivery before OOS,
so is there actually stock or is this good guys pulling another 'lets do a massive price error or drop a high demand item so we can rake up some revenue for this month and please our stakeholders'
No stock. They are awaiting stock. This is essentially putting yourself on a list for when they do get stock.
I prefer amazon's checkout method - only charging when the item gets shipped

Confirming 2 mates completed the expression of interest for a PS5 2 weeks prior to launch day, paid full price with no guaranteed pick up date and both got the call from TGG Essendon on launch day for pickup.

Jees I think some people have way too much money.
Every one here is feeling happy financing the TGG business with zero% loan (cheapest form of debt). They will hold onto your monies, maintain their liquidity and you won't get anything in Q1 2021 and at the end if they cannot fulfil your order you will get a chance to wait some more or get a refund.
If there was an ETA it would be worth getting but without one you could be waiting until 2022 lol
ETA is nothing but a promise. I am sure they have it burried in some terms and conditions that they retain the right to change the ETA based on stock availability and other factors… Blah blah.

I got the chance to sample Until Dawn, Days Gone, God of War, Ghosts of Tsushima and a handful of others at glorious 60fps.
Would be more than happy to play buttery smooth last gen games during the wait honestly.
@cb01: I think I am going to report to ACCC that The good guys people are misleading people by NOT mentioning anywhere that its a pre-order. They don't even have a delivery date.
