  • Good deal, the cheapest I've ever seen a colour laser printer (previously was the Samsung CLP-300 for $149 after $100 c/b).

I have the Fuji-Xerox DocuPrint 203a and it's the best printer I've ever owned. Cannot stress how good it is to movie away from ink-jet printers. I've been printing documents on it since I got it in April 2007 and I'm still yet to replace the toner that came with the printer.

Apparently generic toners go from between $12-20 ea, so save yourself some money on those colour toners and hunt around.

    +1

  • Just ordered one- should be here by the end of the week, i'll let you know my thoughts shortly

  • I agree with cyssero on this one. I have the DocuPrint 203a and it's a fantastic little printer. Cheap to run, great results (particularly when printing text) and simple to use. I send documents from any printer in my house to the Airport Express Wireless Base Station which it is attached to.

I don't have any real need for a colour laser but if I did I would look up some reviews on this one and most likely be pleasantly surprised, as with all Fuji Xerox printers I have read up on. I will consider this one though!

mjwills or anyone: Do you know if those products you linked to are offering the cashback too - is this a Fuji thing or a City Software thing?

  • Who sells the toner at those prices ? I can only find generics on ebay going for $50.

    • I actually meant to say the refills for DocuPrint 203a are that price. As you mentioned the cost of the C1110b is a lot more. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/FUJI-XEROX-C1110-C1110B-1110-TONER-RE… has all 4 for $149, which is about $37.25 ea.

Each cartridge can do about 2,000 pages each so for me it would take close to 4 years to exhaust them, not to mention I print mostly B&W.

  • Does anyone that has any experience with this printer outline some good and bad points with regards to this laser. Or even direct me to any reviews online, i cant seem to find any.

I purchased a Samsung CLP300 myself, and everything is quite good except the quality could be better.

  • How would you go about Networking this?

    • You can buy the C1110 instead of C1110B which should have networking build in. Otherwise you'll just need to find a print server with USB port.

  • the other things to consider with colour printers is: do they have a separate black cartridge — you will generally find you use 100 times more black than colour, so replacing all of them at once will be expensive in the long run. this is something many cheaper models scrimp on to ensure that they make their return on the below cost price from after-sales consumables.
I don't know the specifics of this printer —can anyone confirm if it has multiple toner cartridges??

the other thing to consider is that the supplied cartridges are more often than not, reduced size/partly charged with toner. they run out after a small amount of use, so you need to will buy full priced cartridges, (which then last most people the life of the printer).

AlexBlom, you could buy a cheap USB print server, or just use the old, tried and true networking method — set it as the local printer on one PC as normal then right-click-share the printer on your network and connect to… on the other PCs, which installs all necessary drivers for you. the only issue with that is having to have the host PC switched for it to work.

  • "Small but powerful" works for me, it's amazing though how small this <a href="http://www.astrocall.com.au/printers.html">printer</a> can be. I am impressed specially because I didn't see that coming.
