  • is it really that good?

    • +2

I think its crap, and far too much sugar in it.

      • +5

Too much sugar compared to a apple? It's a dessert.
When they are on sale they sell out so I imagine I'm not the only person who likes them.

        • when best tiem to order?

        • +2

Their salted caramel chocolate panna cotta is the absolute tits

      • On the other hand, I tried it as a dessert but I wish it had more sugar and flavour to it. It tasted too raw. Some cardamom (or just more vanilla/ rose), sliced nuts etc, along with a bit more sugar, would make it taste far better me thinks.

After all the hype on here I purchased a couple of tubs. Can honestly say i was a bit disappointed in them. Quality was no where near they hype they get. Not bad but def not worth raving over.

Agree, tried some a few weeks ago and was underwhelmed. I was expecting a much stronger vanilla flavour that it delivered. They obviously skimp on the Madagascan vanilla beans. On a par with the everyday Aldi stuff.

        Good deal though.

To be honest the Aldi rice pudding is REALLY good, and yes, fully comparable with this brand. The other rice-pudding brands from Woolies and Coles are seriously disappointing…

          • @Matej Pribelsky: Do you mean the standard one that comes in a can for about 99c?

            • -1

@OzyBe: The one in a plastic container in the dessert section was what I was referring to.

            • +2

@OzyBe: I think you're referring to the depression-era style / uni student dessert of "rice cream"… and yes there's some in my cupboard.

          • @Matej Pribelsky: It's passable for a mass-produced product but I inevitably compare it to home-made rice pudding with the right amount of real vanilla beans and some citrus peel.

This is actually quite nice, but agree too much sugar

  • +3

Have it with fruit, like raspberries

  • -3

It'll be wicked in the toilet, half an hour after eating it.

  • keep this away from your kids. you've been warned.

    • Very ominous.

      Care to elaborate?

      • +2

        i'll take a stab.

sugar-rush/hyperactivity, throwing tanties for more; sugar is legal crack after all..

        happy to be corrected

        • Makes sense. I was a thinking more along the lines of the (neglible)alcohol content

  • coconut one on sale too?

    • what coconut

      • ;) Keep your eyes out. worth it.

    • I haven’t seen the coconut at woolies for a long time which made me suspect woolies removed it :(

      • Same for my local store but I saw it in there recently…..didn't buy any cos I was waiting for it to go on sale.

  • This stuff is great just don't eat too much in one week or you'll get weird toilet times.

  • +1

heat it up just a tad - maybe 10-20s per serving in the microwave and dannnnggg, so good

  • +1

It's OK, but has a ton of sugar. Rice pudding is easy to make at home though (and I'm below average in cooking skills), and by doing so you can control the sugar amount. Can be made either on the stove top, slow cooker or pressure cooker.

  • Yeah that’s a lot of sugar, I’ve found yopro has the least amount of sugar (that I can find).
