Pre Owned PS4 Pro 1TB

Hi guys,
I'm considering purchasing a preowned console from the EB Games website.
Couldn't find any information on the warranty.

Question
- what warranty is offered on the preowned consoles?
- any other sites/stores that I can get PS4 Pro consoles (Ozbargain level prices and also Ozbargain level quality)?
- not really considering gumtree / facebook as Im not familiar with the console and worried I might get a lemon with no hope of return/refund.

  • also anything to lookout for (eg: serial number, batch, any model with known issues etc)

    Don't pay $499 for a used PS4 Pro when PS5 isn't much more (when back in stock)…

    Make sure you get the Pro with model number CUH-72***. The key digit here being "2". It'e the lastest revision and runs signicantly cooler and quieter than the older Pro's.

    Check that you can go online with it. I bought a banned console from a secondhand dealer. (They refunded promptly). There is no way for you to get it unbanned.

      Really useful tip. This makes me wanna know more on how to identify if the PS4 is "legit"

        Personally, I would buy a bundle from private eBay seller with good feedback. Best value.

        You can ask for the model number or look for it on the box if they have provided pictures.

    I haven't worked at EB in like 10 years, but when I did, I recall it being 12 months on all pre-owned consoles covered by EB. If anyone ever brought in a dead pre-owned console, which I think happened once, we just swapped it with another pre-owned.

    EB make so much more from the 2nd hand market that they can afford this. But like I said, it's been a long time since I worked there so you'd need to check yourself.

    Do not buy a pre owned Ps4 from the store. The price is marked up ridiculously and not even that far off newer consoles. Ps5 will only be $749 when they're in stock, meanwhile you'll pay at least $400 for an obsolete Ps4.

    Go on Gumtree. There's nothing to know about the console - plug it in, insert game and play. Look for the slim newer models and test if it works before you hand over the cash. You can find them around $150-200

    Why don't you buy a pre owned console from FB marketplace/gumtree or even eBay? There's pics of what the console looks like, so you can pick and choose, also they would be much cheaper than EB

    In Adelaide you can get the pro for around $350 on gumtree/Facebook haggling a bit.

    And most of them are happy to let you test it.
    You can test it by playing a game and connecting to the PS network (to see if it has been banned)

    Several friends and I have bought our ps4 pro second hand and no problems at all.

    You can even hunt for the last model 72xx and sometimes it comes bundled with games
