Certainly a lot less content than a recent fallout game, but I personally found that great. It was great fun, didn't overstay it's welcome and I got the satisfaction of actually finishing a game for once.
turn it up
Here here. Was just a well made game. Looked damn pretty. Had decently interesting characters. A couple of fun (and funny!!) quests, nothing felt particularly rushed or half baked, and a pleasure to play through. I rarely buy any game at full price, but I picked this up at $30 and felt fully justified =)
Couldn't agree less. Some people obviously didn't buy games 20 years ago (or more!) When you spent $50 and got a 8-10 hour story at the most!
I recall seeing SNES RPGs in PAL format for over $100 in the 90s at Kmart. Must be rare imports or something, but over $100 in the 90s must be $200 today. It's not like this game comes on a cartridge with state of the art high capacity solid state storage or expansion chips or whatever though. They don't need to fly it in from Japan, they can reproduce 1's and 0's a trillion times today if they want for just the cost of a cheap server.
Or the days of point and click adventure games, you'd get months out of those games because they were all so ludicrously hard.
Me: Wow I can't believe I'm actually getting through my backlog!
EB Games: No.
Free on game pass.
Something can't be "free" on a paid subscription service.
While I would generally agree, this is a ~15h experience, and a 3 month subscription currently costs $1 for Game Pass Ultimate. Pretty good value tbh.
$1*
for new sign ups only…
I don't think it's on game pass anymore.. is it?
I did play and finished it off gp thought, a very enjoyable game. Heard there's 2 DLC for it now.
This the true sign EB is going bust?
Nah.. they're just cleaning up to make space for PS5 and XBX titles… Also they're trying to move away from games as people are moving towards digital only / subscription based models.
EB Games will focus on 'board games' then?
That's what Zing is for.
@Gehirn: My local EB has a discount games bin out the front but the only games are in small selection for xbox, ps & nintendo on the walls. The floor space in the store is now full of video games related merchandising & pop culture goods. At least they are trying to adapt to a changing market rather than just continuing down. I think most stores will convert into Zing.
Also they're trying to move away from games
Then what would they be selling? Consoles and accessories only?
EB Merch
Pop culture stuff, every store is half a zing pop now
Cases for switch with licensed brands, t-shirts, coffee cups, glasses, video game related collectibles (mario star shape light, gameboy keychains, etc)
My locak EB is probably 15% games and 85% merch now. They can see the direction we're heading in with faster internet becoming available and digital only consoles being cheaper to buy & services like Games Pass / PS Now / EA Play becoming available physical games sales are in the dumps.
No love for ps4 version?
I think it’ll be free on PSN plus at some point.
Doubt it considering this is Microsoft's game (Obsidian). It was lucky to even get a PS4 release - which I assume was due to an existing deal prior to Microsoft's takeover.
I picked it up at JB for $20 last week on PS4, who price-matched Big W. Been keeping an eye on it for a while and that's by far the cheapest I've seen it. If you're keen might be worth a shot!
Wish you could play in third person like fallout
Cracker of a game! Highly recommend.
Best Fallout-like game after New Vegas. Bethesda has ruined Fallout. Really wish Obsidian had the right to make Fallout games.
played fallout games and thought they were good. PLayed about 5 ish hours of this game and couldnt get into it.
in the shame pile now
Same here.
$10 is a good price for this. It's not quite worth a full game, but also it feels like Fallout Lite and there are a lot of Fallout fans out there that would get a lot of value out of a Fallout Lite experience.
