  • I can't remember if it's the same version I saw at Target store on Bourke St, Melb but it was an electric scooter on specials for $250.

  • THIS DEVICE IS ILLEGAL ON QUEENSLAND ROADS AND FOOTPATHS!

    • Chill a little. It's a fair warning but I don't think the whole sentence had to be in caps. They can still use em in parks, skate parks and out bush (tires look fat enough)

      • +1

        Assuming the "real sparks" are actually "real sparks", then out in the bush and some parks may not be the smartest place to use it throughout the summer with bushfire threat etc.

        I assume the "spark bar" is a metal/flint piece that sparks across concrete / stone / anything hard enough.

    • how many watts is the motor?

      you are allowed up to 200 watts.

      http://www.tmr.qld.gov.au/Registration/Registering-vehicles/…

      Also.. could you not remove the spark cartridge on the back?

      • It isn't the spark cartridge…though highly dangerous.

        It's the fact it is not speed limited to 10km/ph as required under TORUM.

        Also, if an operator of this device does injure someone, they will not be covered by the nominal defendant and most likely not under the public liability insurance attached to most home/contents insurance policies.

    • Wait…stupid me…I was right. I forgot some of my training, the 'Don't doubt yourself' part.

      TORUM ACT 1995:

      The vehicle in question fits under the definition of 'scooter'

      Schedule 4:

      motorised scooter means a scooter that is propelled by 1 or
      more electric motors and complies with the requirements in
      paragraph (e) of the definition scooter.

      scooter means a device that—
      (a) has 2 or more wheels and a footboard supported by the
      wheels; and
      (b) is steered by handlebars; and
      (c) is designed to be used by a single person; and
      (d) is propelled by any 1 or more of the following—
      (i) gravity;
      (ii) the user pushing 1 foot against the ground;
      (iii) an electric motor or motors; and

      (e) if it is fitted with an electric motor or motors (whether
      the motor or motors are part of, or attached to, the
      device), complies with the following requirements—
      (i) its maker certifies (either by means of a plate
      attached to the motor or each motor, or by means
      of engraving on the motor or each motor) the
      ungoverned power output of the motor, or each
      motor;
      (ii) the maximum power output of the motor, or the
      combined maximum power output of the motors, is
      not more than 200 watts;
      (iii) when propelled only by the motor or motors, the
      SCOOTER IS NOT CAPABLE OF GOING FASTER THAN 10KM/H
      on level ground.

    Great for summer time - bush fire potential.
