I have just learned that by recharging it 3 days earlier (not a lot but could have been worse if I decided to recharge it say 2 months ago) so unless you set up auto recharge or recharge it on the expiry date or you intend to recharge due to run out of data usage, do not recharge your boost mobile plan earlier than your expiry date. Online chat will not alter the expiry date.

Idk why Australian carriers use this standard instead of stacking with remaining days?
Welcome to prepaid 101 with special guest fchis
Ummm as others have said, yes this has ALWAYS been the case with prepaid. You also forgo any 'credit' or data in most cases as well that you had left.
Its called a short recharge.

Yes and ?
I get what the comments above are saying 😁, however not everyone reads the fine print and may “deserve” the consequences… An useful (PSA) reminder for those that have forgotten or ignorant of this information.
I have alway used auto recharge function as default for catch, and kogan mobile. I suppose giving a heads up if someone is reading this post of what to expect may come in handy for a prepaid BOOST Mobile SIM plan user.
3 days lost? Oh noes, 2021 is off to such a shit start…
Take a breath OP
The sky is falling … the sky is falling…
Or never recharge/auto-renewal any prepaid plans.
Thanks, I will keep this in mind if I ever change back to prepaid.
The last time I was on a prepaid plan it worked a little different. Back then I would purchase a $20 recharge and it would be added to my account balance. At the end of the 30 day plan it would deduct $20 from my account balance and exchange it for call/text/data credit.
Next time someone forgets to recharge on the last day and lose all the data that could be banked.
That's how Amaysim works. Also found their customer service good after I stuffed up once and renewed on a more expensive plan instead of banking the extra credit - they changed it straight back on request.
On the plus side of prepaid, if you don't need to make a phone call for a month after it expires you can wait a month before recharging. If you really care about tiny amounts of money and don't have any friends or family anyway.
No sh*t
I don't get some of this, as I am new to mobiles as well
ATM they have the 55GB for $15, which is grouse;
but it is split into 30GB & 25 GB. But the later 25GB is bonus for your first 3 recharges
Does that mean your get 8.something GB/month every month for 3 months if you stay with Boost?
What happens if you get another SIM (a year SIM, those 300GB ones)
does the 25GB over 3 months come over? Thanks OP couldn't find this info anywhere else
Thanks OP.
This is the case with EVERY SINGLE prepaid service.
