I have never, EVER seen Analon cookware being sold at full price. I have only ever seen these sets going for %50 off

I got suckered in to buying a set due to this deal back in the 90's. Saw the %50 off sign in the dept store, and the "lifetime warranty" claim on the box and was chuffed with myself for scoring a $600 set of pans for $300. Well, they didn't last very long, and when I examined the warranty closely, it turned out it was only for the lids, the pots themselves were not covered at all!

Saw that same set of pots at the same price for many years after at the same dept. store - wanted to kick the display over… Very disappointed and learned a good lesson about claims regarding prices and warranties.

Can't speak of the quality of this deal though

    • correction-"Limited lifetime warranty"! you have been taught just what the term 'limited' means but unfortunately after you bought it…

        Graphics: "LIFETIME WARRANTY OMFG!"
        Text: "Limited Lifetime Warranty…"
Details: "If your indestructible lids break, we'll give you new ones. If something happens to the pans, you're boned"

        Anybody want some lids?

  • analon are awesome… but these are the cheaper ones in the range
these have a lifetime guarantee, very well made
up there with Scanpan and Tefal

    • Tefal warps (or at least, the 'cheap' ones do).
Scanpan cannot be used at high heat without permanent damage (officially not covered by warranty)

From what I hear, Analon also cannot be used at high heat.

      • not true…. i use mine at high heat.. and are fine..
i have the really tough analon ones

and anyways these will do a really good job

        • and yes i agree with the warranty… and the cheap ones can warp, i am yet to see this though

    • I bought an Analon fry pan before. It warped and Analon service didn't answer my email. I paid $80 for it. Its coating is softer compared to other Teflon coatings.

My Tefal,Circulon pans don't warp. It depends on the construction of pans.

  • Are they Teflon coated ?

    • Medium gauge anodized aluminum with non-stick interior
Phenolic handles and tempered glass lids
Oven safe to 350 Degrees F. [ouch that's only ~177C, 180C close enough]
      Hand Washing Recommended.

I got Tefal 14 piece set delivered from amazon US for $138.00 (what i got was Stainless steel with heavy copper bottoms). They also had Teflon one for same price but choose the copper one.
I dont think this is a good deal at all.

i got my stuff deliverd from US in 5 days (they send all their stuff through DHL)

    • Nice!
Copper bottoms > Crappy teflon coating
Just use some goddamn oil or don't burn the food.

Most all the Tefal/scanpan pots/pans we have had are non-stick after about a year anyway.

This "classic" set can only handle up to 180C in the oven.

I have the Circulon "Infinite" range, as it can handle high heat. Ive had it for 2 years and I give it a hammering and it is still as good as new barring a bit of discolour on the base due to high gas flame. In the oven it is rated to 240C.

If this set can't handle high heat it just isn't worth buying IMO

If you want to cook at high heat avoid this cheaper stuff. ie if you don't want your methods of cookery limited by a product that can't do what most chefs and good home cooks want - fry/bake etc at high temp. (my classic Scanpan frypan lasted 2 uses and warranty wouldn't cover it - annoying and expensive lesson learned)

Also, this set is not dishwasher safe.

Paying extra $ for better pans is worth it in the long run.
