Cheaper than amazon of $18
How much was the starter set?
69
Bought the starter for $59 at Kmart before Christmas. Wasn't on sale.
Wow, already on clearance, it must've been so popular this rather new lego mario…
+1 for correct use of must've (as opposed to must of)
New Mario sets coming out in January
Or they just overstocked for xmas and now clearing warehouse and shelf space. Better to have too many before xmas than not enough. I wonder how well the mario lego did sell tho..
Son got it for christmas, he still enjoys playing it, although I doubt it'll last long consider you need to buy a bunch of add ons
This is pretty much where Kmart is different to BIGW and Target. The latter two would rather waste space, but Kmart has a very small gap where it would leave it on shelves, unless it's a product that's continuously flying off shelves, they most likely have something that constantly sweeps their system and checks sales and how much stock it's moving and then marks stuff on clearance to clear room.
are you suggesting that Target doesn’t have epic clearance sales.. cause I’m pretty sure they do.
Was the one underneath it on clearance too? I.e. with bullet bill
Desert Pokey - $20
Other stores $25 at BIGW, Target etc.
Whomp's Lava Trouble - $15
Other stores $25-29 at BIGW, Target etc.
Boomer Bill - $29
Other stores $42 at BIGW, Target etc.
Piranha Plant - $29
Other stores $42 at BIGW, Target etc.
Guarded Fortress - $55
Other stores $69-79 at BIGW, Target etc.
Is the game as bad as I think it would be?
If it's no good as a game, and it's obviously no good visually, then I'm not surprised at being on clearance.
I'm an AFOL but avoiding this theme like the plague.
If you have kids, it'll have some replayability.
Personally I went Bunnings and bought some plywood, cut down to size, painted and setup a bunch of the sets into a visually good-looking diorama, that's still functional to play on,l (sort of reminiscent of a large rpg board game).
My son seems to love it. It integrates with an app and certain Lego blocks which will provide different type of sound effects. As an adult I'd rather build something else as they're not as visually appealing unless you get the very large sets.
What do you think of the app? I think it could be improved, there is only one challenge where a mario ghost (boos) comes up at random time and you should not move Mario…but that's about it…
I like how the app has better / clearer instructions. The boo game is ok but don't really know how it works. The collecting coins part is the best part (without boo).
Clearance prices not online unfortunately
Yellow ticket = nationwide.
