Just noticed that Aldi has Bananas at $1.49 per KG from wed 14th Dec. Seems like the cheapest deal going around at the moment. Coles and Woolworths are $2.99 so seems like a pretty good deal. It's great how the prices have come back down so we can all enjoy a banana. :)

yep…. 1.98 at Woolworths…. not a huge bargain.
Saw 1KG of Bananas gouing for 99c at a Fruit and Veg place just outside Woolies in Rouse Hill shopping village.
Shall we stop banana deals?
If you are not interested, just don't click in the link.
Maybe even just the sight of the link is enough to drive sachy bananas?
Everybody's a bit bent from months of banana deprivation. :)
@ greenpossum: Well, bananas are the athiest's nightmare after all. ;-)

Why yes, the quality of the video is appalling, but then, so is the argument.
Nah, if I don't like the deal I'm going to neg it! ( yes I'm joking)
The price of banana is dependent on variety of factors such as type, size, ripeness, taste, etc. So yes, we should stop fruit or veg deals here!
agree… when they were $10+ and somebody had them for $2 it was worthy… but not anymore…
They were 99c in our local Woolworths the other day and 49c in the fruit shop opposite it so not even a bargain to me.
Meh, this was the standard price at Paddys Market today, with some poorer quality ones going for $1.20/kg. I'm sure you can get it for $1.50 at your fruito. The banana drought is over, so enough banana postings already.
Also, the North Sydney Aldi was selling them for this price today so no need to wait till 14th.
Bananas are back to normal prices. stop these deals
use the search feature, and you will have seen how many deals on bananas there have been.
Also, Parkmore Noble Park had bananas off the 'bunch' i think for $1 a kilo??
Hey, out of interest, has anyone else tried those imported bananas (presumably from China or asia?) I picked some up from my local grocers and couldn't believe how amazing they tasted compared to those flavourless QLD bananas.
The imported ones seemed to be smaller, and much, much sweeter whereas our QLD bananas is just chunky (the skin seems to be 1/3 of the banana, lol), and well yeah, flavourless.
I thought Australia did not allow imports of Banana's, no?
Or else why on Earth do we pay the stupidly inflated prices, everytime Queensland is washed down?
Australia does not import bananas for biosecurity reasons, so I'm not sure where ur2dads found 'imported' bananas.

Perhaps they were just from a different growing area therefore different climate conditions led to the difference? "Due to the cooler climate of the subtropics bananas grow slower, develop a fuller sweeter flavour and tend to be smaller in size than those from the tropics." (http://www.abgc.org.au/?taste-the-difference)
I think your dreaming if you saw imported bananas, some might say you yourself have gone bananas lol
Oh I see, haha. Fair enough. Must be from a different part of Australia I guess.
FYI, I got mine from some Asian grocers in Eastwood, Sydney.
Could be the red tipped ones?? Confusion!
Good for banana cake.
Sorry no bargain here.
1. Local Aldi were selling these at 1.49 already this week
2. Fruito at Westfield selling them for 99c last week (see receipt)Gonna see if I can get a price match on those bananas.
Let us know how u go at officeworks.

I got kicked out of the store. :(
You should have just slipped out.
@Burnz - That's terrible. You ought to a peel the eviction.
not a deal plus the recent batches seems to taste like flour. I am amazed at what people can bring themselves to call these bananas. go easy on the plant steroids ffs.
Banans are imported only as dried & chip form.
Smaller banana you see is just another variety grown here.I love Tevion Banannas!
60 day return policy! :)
Bananas have been readily available again for well over a month, these prices are pretty normal now, no more shortages or crazy prices. This is no deal, this is just every day… even if they were 50c a kilo, it's really not worth posting any more than potatoes being 20c a kilo somewhere…
No deal. Last weekend it was 1.98 at Woolies, 99c at various independent fruit shops in my area.
No deal. $1.98 at Woolies last weekend. Saving of 50c, a deal??
excellent price - far cheaper than coles and woolys. Hot price.
No deal, this is just the price of them now.Stop posting banana prices.
Good that prices are coming down.. Coles was $1.99 for me today.
