  • Cheers! Picked up one of each. :)

  • thanks, so much sugar….

    • +1

      Not really.

In fact, aside from the coffee and strawberry Mushashi ones, they're all incredibly low in sugar.

  • Yea seems they have a lot of suger vs the shake you mix yourself

    • +1

They have less carbs and sugar than Bulk Nutrients' WPC.

Did anyone here even read the nutrional info on these drinks?

How can there be 3 nuffs within 5 minutes?

  • +1

Yeah low quality proteins, lots of carbs and basically normal milk powders. Much cheaper to buy protein and mix yourself

    • -1

The Aussie Bodies one is only 2% carbs and the Musashi Shred and Burn is only 1%…

      • +2

Aussie bodies is using xylitol which is a way of looking like you have less carbs as it gets listed separately from carbs.

The Shred and burn is god awful ingredients,. (Water, Sodium Caseinate, Vegetable Fat Powder (contains Soy) [Emulsifiers (471, 472c), Stabilisers (339, 450)], Cocoa Powder, Stabilisers (407, 418, 399, 460, 466), Flavours, Salt, Green Tea Extract, L-Carnitine, Sweetener (955), Acidity Regulator (301).

Sodium Caseinate is known to be the worst form of casein protein.

        • -2

Only 2.4% xylitol. Assuming all the xylitol is carbs, it still comes out as a lower percentage of carbs than traditional WPC powders.

          • @TruthNuke: It's got 9 grams of xylitol per serving and then add the other carbs on top 7.6g and also 5g of fat. Sorry wpc has lower than that. It's ingredients list is water then whole milk then protein blend in the order of calcium caseinate then wpc and then wpi.

I think you've completely missed the point of these drinks but neg away, weirdo.

          • +1

@TruthNuke: I didn't neg the deal. But don't tell people how good it is if you don't understand anything about supplements and ingredients. Obviously have no clue but go around calling people names. Well done child

            • -2

@lonewolf: I didn't say it's better than WPC. The point I'm trying to make is that people are being hysterical about the sugar content when it's really not a hell of a lot different to your traditional WPC powders.

These drinks are convenient. That's their selling point and you're failing to understand that by mentioning that buying WPC and mixing it yourself is cheaper. It's so obvious it doesn't need to be said.

              • +2

@TruthNuke: No the problem. I have with it isnt just carbs or sugars. It's the quality of ingredients listed. And the order they are in / amounts. You can't just compare protein no.s or carb no. S etc. It's also the type of proteins used or carbs used or sweeteners etc etc. They are filling it up with lower quality proteins and other stuff which diminishes what you are actually getting. I never specifically mentioned wpc but you mentioned bulk nutrients wpc. That is a higher quality protein because not too much denaturation. And alot less fillers and other additions to it. If they hadn't used whole milk etc but higher quality proteins like just wpc or wpi or micellar casein etc.. And not so many other stuff. Then yes

                • +1

@lonewolf: I totally agree with you on that.
                  I personally use WPC.

However, I keep a couple of these handy in the fridge in case I run out of milk or I don't have time to blend up a shake etc.

That's the beauty of them. They're convenient.

Purely in regards to bodybuilding, they're not going to be on the same level as, for example, WPC from Bulk Nutrients.

It's just frustrating to see people essentially equate these to a Big M. They're much better than that if you're after conveniently ingesting 30 grams of protein.

                  • +1

@TruthNuke: They are definitely not the worst thing around. And they are convenient and I think i had aussie bodies ones ages ago and it tasted decent. Have you seen the other type.. There is a company that puts all the powders together into a drink bottle like these with flavouring etc. But no water.. It means less additives and things to put in it due to not having to deal liquids making the products not last as long. It does mean you need to find a water station but I assume most gyms etc will have that. Interesting idea but then again that's almost the same as you mixing the powders into a bottle yourself I guess.

I used to use musashi back when I started working out and supplements 23 years ago but over the years I lost confidence in them as I found they went downhill in terms of ingredients they used and quality of them. I guess when they got bigger and I think bought out they had to think more on the profit margins etc. Used to be my no. 1 brand when I started.

                    • @lonewolf: That does sound interesting.

I'm sorry I lost my cool, my friend.

Merry Chistmas and a happy New Year of gains.

                      • @TruthNuke: No worries mate, I also over reacted and didnt respond well

Have a good break, My only gains are always FAT during the break as all my cardio activities cease :(.

  • +1

Itckntains 6.8g super.. if you take 2 a day thats 13.6g suger vs if you mix it yourself its like 2/3g suger.

This is the assie one. I didn't look at the other brand. Don't know them

    • +1

      I see what you mean.

If you were to mix your protein powder with 375ml of milk, you'd be adding ~16g of sugar.

You'd be ahead if you mixed with water (gross). But lets not carry on like this is a high sugar drink because it's really not at all.

  • Ozbargained…luckily, managed to grab some!
