Hi OzB Fam,
Looking at purchasing a Smart TV for the mother who is not really tech savvy.
Budget around $700 and get stretch to $800.
Was looking at the Philips 58" (147cm) 4K UHD Smart LED TV or Philips 55"(140cm) UHD LED LCD Smart TV at the Good Guys for around $600 but it is sold out state wide.
Any recommendations would be awesome.

If you don't need something urgently, maybe bide your time and keep an eye on OzB.
thanks legends, looking at the JVC for an extra 50 bucks at Big W. I've known of JVC as a brand, and not so much EKO.
Is EKO really that good? Might also get that soundbar from big W aswell, no doubt it would be better than the in built tv speakers.
JVC and Phillips are just badges these days, don't attribute any of their former manufacturing reputation to their current incarnation.
EKO stabs it cause it comes with the Android TV interface which ticks your boxes.
JB-Hifi will be having boxing day sale for Hisense 55" for $788 according to https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/592338. Seems good value for money especially with 3 years warranty.

Hisense is so much better than EKO. Hisense is just as good as Sony, Samsung etc.
Paid $600 for eko 58” a week or 2 back. happy with it.
