  • What is better? This EKO TV or JVC or TCL P715? If it's better than P715, then what about C715?

No idea why everyone thinks they need to be comedians.

      @SpacePolitix

I haven't used EKO nor JVC but have recently purchased 55" version of TCL P715 for use in our gym room. Overall, it's a decent TV. It's no OLED or high end LED TV, but with good quality source material, the picture quality isn't too bad. Android TV works ok. It's not the most snappy user interface but not that much different to my Sony A8F or 9000XE.

      • Thank you, I really appreciate your input! Have you tried streaming 4K over wifi with it?

        • I tried playing 4k video on youtube and it was struggling a bit. It is most likely because wifi signal in my gym room isn't the best, but could also be because the TV only has 2.4ghz wifi. I suspect the former as the reason at this stage.

          • @keejoonc: 10/10 insight, thank you! I was worried about the 2.4ghz wifi aspect of this. Might be good if combined with Google TV then…

            • @SpacePolitix: yes, i was actually thinking about picking up google tv with the netflix bundle offer since the wife pays for netflix anyway. for $40-50, it's a no brainer i think.

good luck with your decision. I found buying a budget tv to be a lot harder than buying a higher end tv.

            • @SpacePolitix: The EKO supports 5GHz

I bought this (see link below) which is the QLED version. Still on sale if you can find stocks. Significant differences in the picture quality between this and the nonQLED version which is advertised here my eye. ( I am not a pro and my eye sight is worsening 😁) I feel like sometimes it is better than my panasonic and Samsung frame TV, specially the 4k content as I feel like dark scences are darker. Os is bad but I have hooked up to apple tv. Hope this helps.

    • in theory, TCL should be a better panel. although I bought a 65" hisense and was underwhelmed.. so brand doesn't always mean much. best would be to compare if you can.

      • Do you know if cheap QLEDs would be better than expensive non-QLEDs? Since you said brand doesn't matter as much

  • can you use the Immortals Fenyx Rising ps4 version on your ps5?

  • +4

Nice price for Immortals, no doubt Amazon will price match.

Would it go down further on next year for a switch version? I found the value doesn’t hold long for Ubi games

      • +1

I would say so. Will get it myself at <=$30. They seem to be the only major dev with decent games (I don't consider a lot of indie games that good tbh and like the more AAA releases) that actually discount their games at a normal rate on Switch and don't inflate their price tags too high or keep them their for too long. You can find Rayman Legends for <$20 these days and also you can find Assassin's Creed Rebel Collection for <$35 pretty reliably.

    • Now $1 less at Amazon but only PS4/XB1 so far, no switch as yet.

Edit: Switch and also PS5 down to $48 now.

  • Jbl link portable has poor review, no Bluetooth and lost wifi connection even not charging after few months time. Check out before purchasing.

I have the JBL Portable from the last BIG W special. It has Bluetooth that performs perfectly for me. For the price, I am very very happy with my purchase and considering buying another one. Nothing but good things to say about it, but as you say there has been comments as to the reliability of the device. In my situation I can only comment on how I have found it. It gets flogged by my kids taking it outside to the pool when they swim. No issues at all. Sound quality is fine for me too (SBS Chill in the mornings and Death/Doom metal when the Mrs and kids go to the shops)

damn ubi shipped out fenyx rising.

  • I was under the impression that big w had no jbl link portables left (in WA at least) and would not be getting any more as when mine died they wouldnt replace it because it was "being replaced by the jbl link music".

$10 off iPhone 11 and its the first deal on the page 😫

    • Well, it's still a saving.

  • Where all the PS5 games at? :(

The Eko 65" TV I bought in last year's Boxing Day sale (~$550) was one of the greatest purchases I made in the past 12 months.

    • Is this the same model?

  • Watch Dog Legions $48 at Amazon now for those that prefer.

  • The JVC is just $499 online https://www.bigw.com.au/product/jvc-55-4k-qled-android-tv/p/…

Is it good? Thinking to replace my parents 32 inch.

  • The 55" Qled jvc is $549 on boxing day,
    But it's $499 currently? 🤔

    • ye get it bahaha, it defs did say $749 couple days ago

  • Is anyone having issue with paying with credit card with Big W? It keeps saying they cannot process my order.

  • so whats the difference between this JVC 55" $499 vs EKO 58" QLED and the EKO 65" QLED … besides the size.

  • Thanks for the heads up. I was looking for the JBL Link Portable and found your post just in time. A great saving over RRP.
