Reviews for this watch vary, but for $149 I don’t think it’s too bad

Nice watch, horrible battery
How is Instagram on this thing?
This out the Samsung Gear S3?
Instagram? No chance…. Not sure what you'd actually do on a watch on Insta anyway?
You're also trying to decide between a $150 2-3 year old model vs a $500-600 current model? Compare it to the Gen 5 which is a closer ballpark but still cheaper than the S3.
I have this watch. I got it because it looks like a normal watch. Battery is 40 percent at the end of the day 9pm. Does payments on tap and go..notifications.. everything I want. I love it
Does this have it's own sim? Is it something I could wear surfing and still receive calls / messages?
No cellular so still needs to be connected to your phone…can't receive calls. Can read messages on it fine.
It's also not technically rated well enough to swim in but I have taken mine in the beach plenty of times.Thank-you!
@wittyusername: You probably want the Samsung S3 LTE if you want to make/receive calls independent of the phone but the call quality isn't great in my experience.
Be warned that if you get a watch with eSIM (not this), you need an expensive phone plan (post-paid, direct from one of the 3 networks).
If you are looking at a $149 watch, you probably don't want to pay $50/month for a phone plan. However, you could leave a wifi hotspot in the car nearby, or in your bag, for beach visits. And a newer watch for voice.
Oh right, I was under the assumption there was some way of sharing data/calls from my pre-existing plan? Definitely not worth it not, work calls can wait till I'm ready then!
@wittyusername: There is, and it costs only $5/month, but the catch is that it is only allowed on expensive plans.
Not pre-paid or resellers. Telstra's cheapest plan is now $55/month, plus $5 for eSIM.
(Once they had a $5/month postpaid plan.)So $600/year more than a basic plan from resellers.
OOS?
Matching JB if you don't want to wait for shipping
As I mentioned in the other thread, turn off the auto "Hey Google" and tilt to wake and it will improve the watch 100%.
