Why read, when someone else can for you? Ozbargain rule 1, 2 and 3.

  • It was 899 last month at JB Hifi

    • +2

Yes. And 999 for 5G version in 30th Sep at JB HIFI. I have bought that one :)

    Such a great phone.

I got mine 12 months ago for I think about $1170 (OW pricebeat from Amazon), and then cheaper for me on claiming FBT. I wouldn't buy in now for $1000, especially a grey import (without getting into the SD vs. Exynos debate).

Neither would I upgrade to Note 20 Ultra. My principal concern is battery life. The non-adaptive high refresh rate and current 5G tech, and comparative inefficiency of the Exynos chip, seem a downgrade from the Note 10+. As much as I'd love higher frames, I guess Sammy need to improve their chips (or adopt Snappys), we need to wait on 5G to improve, and for iterative improvements to battery capacity/chip efficiencies. Not that interested in adaptive displays either - I'd rather run high frames with everything or not at all. Also, I don't feel there's much or any iterative bump in specs from Note 10+ to Note 20 Ultra.

I'll be keeping mine until I feel the Folds have hit their true flagship stride (better resolution displays, a bump up in specs, IP 68, hopefully a little better pricing).

    • Mine lasts for 26h with juice still.
It all depends how you manage your phone.
I never fully discharge it, I charge it around 40-50% which increases the battery life.

I've been using Android since 1.6 back in 2009, and since then, I uninstall/disable everything that isn't necessary, and neither use features that are dumb and uses a lot of battery.

I use an AOD app that only enables AOD if I receive WhatsApp, Message, Gmail since I work with technology and need to be 24/7 online, Bank Alerts, etc. Other than that, the screen if off.

Why do you need the highest screen resolution all the time, to read a bloody Facebook feed?
Why do you need AOD?? Are people that important that cannot afford missing anything??

I receive so many alerts from the company's system since I manage the Google Cloud servers, user management, VPN, etc, and the whole experience on my Note 10+ 5G is awesome.

Note 10 variant is known for not being as good as Note 10+. So why I don't recommend this to nobody.

      • This AOD app you speak of sounds intriguing.
Does it still allow "double tap to wake" to work? Or does that defeat the purpose?

"guess Sammy need to improve their chips (or adopt Snappys)"
    quite true

"I feel the Folds have hit their true flagship stride"
    Is Folds really so good?

$1k for a 2 years old phone which has been cheaper locally before. No deal.

    • Actually, one year and 4 months old phone…

    • I'm hearing lot of rumours that they are killing note brand, Looks like S series might support S-pen (May be iPhone 13 might support apple pencil)

  • Tried to grab the 5G model instead of this one.
You won't need to bother about upgrade for at least 3y if you wanna have the latest Android.

Samsung will update Note 10 all variant until Android 12 or 13 I don't remember which Android 11 is already being released in some countries, after that just security updates. No less important and I didn't knew, it has Wifi 6 already so you will be good for ages. In many occasions it is worthy than Note 20 variant.

I have the Note 10+ 5G variant and I (profanity) love it.

Remember Note 10 DOES NOT HAVE the same performance, battery life, great experience as Note 10+ worse if 5G variant. Keep that in mind.

  • Well Note20 256g is now $999 on EDU store.

  • bought the Note 10+ with QFF ppts back in Aug this year, very disappointed with battery life, 2 wks ago, I found that once the battery hit below 45% it will turn itself off and when i turned it back on, it will show as 0%.
Then it was ok after that but just last friday, it died again after 50% and today, once its fully charged, after half an hour or so, the phone will shut down and back to 0% again and now I am trying backup my photos and scrambling to get a new phone and then call up Samsung to hopefully get this sorted under warranty :(
