Oh yeah. That's the spirit.
Nice find, i've got the older version of these so i won't be buying
cool story bro!
I don't get it, why did people neg that? Usually negged people are genuinely being dicks, but I don't see why figarow would be offending anyone.
relevance to this deal? dont need a life story, just comments relevant to this item or discussions on function…. or something funny that is somewhat related :D
What's shipping cost on average?
Always free shipping
would this work for a TV?? I have a big screen Samsung. The sound from TV is crap. I don't want to go for expensive sound system at this point.
Says it will connect to a DVD player so a TV should work. Also does some kind of stereo to surround conversion. Rear speaker lines may not be very long though.
I have these connected to my tv through my wd live , they sound great to me , they also have a simulated 3d surround sound which is cool.
At this price a bargain .
Yep the Z506's can plug in via 3.5mm or RCA so you have plenty of options for Computer/Games Console/DVD Player/TV etc - go for it. We know lots of people who are using these as a simple upgrade to their TV's sound or for the kids in their room for games and stuff.
Shipping was free
Ozbargainers rock !!!!!! when it comes to Logitech do not mess with lts. :)
What other speakers will be on sale?
I'm glad didn't jump on BingLee deal before. LTS rock. Going to head there and order one as a gift now :-D Thanks, @bargaincrypt
The fact is, without Bing Lee's deal, there won't be this one, so thanks Bing Lee as well :D
Exactly. Bing Lee got my money 'cause they offered the best bargain at the time by a good $20. I'm guessing the LTS special price would still be at $75 without it. Competition is a wonderful thing.
Yep great spirit and competition, Logitech consumers win in the end, it's a brilliant offer!
Hmm, not if BingLee decides to decrease their price, again!.Grat work Lts!! C'mon BingLee!! ;)
Awesome thanks.
good price but only analogue input i believe no optical input.
so… unless your tv/computer has 3 outputs (front / rear/ sub ) i think you get no 5.1 sound
if your tv has a headphone jack you can use these speakers for 2 maybe 2.1?
Can we have speakers with optical input for cheap pretty please…
I would love a cheap 5.1 set with optical too ^.- Probably your best bet is a low end home theatre set, just check that they do have the inputs you want.
You can most likely use these with a 2.0 source so you know. My x530's (previous gen of the same cheap 5.1 setup) came with this plug, so you can use 2 channel RCA sound to send something to each speaker. Yeah it's not actually surround sound really, but it makes all the speakers have sound so you can at least use the set.
You could probably use something like this converter to get true 5.1 out of these speakers from your xbox/ps3/bluray:
http://www.spacehifi.com.au/contents/en-au/p168_ac3-dts-5.1-…
Not sure it's worth it though at $99. I would think that for $150 you can get a HTiB setup with optical audio input included.
Oh wow, that is actually pretty nice. When you consider then that unit + these speakers is 150 bucks, that might be better quality than a HTiB that costs 150? Also HTiB's in this price range (at least the ones I've looked at) will generally only include one digital input, SPDIF in either optical or coaxial. This little box would let you have 3 digital inputs, headphone jack input, and full analogue if you wanted to change back to that :o
A much nicer package IMO, because I mean who actually uses a DVD player these days? :P
The description says:
Surround sound with 3D Stereo
You’ll hear it all around you—even from two-channel sources.
Your speakers convert two-channel stereo into an immersive surround sound experience.
So yeah……..
Lucky my Ddts 100 still working strongly. Unlucky my x530 working good
as well, so I can't buy this one.
The Z506's will take a signal and push it around to all speakers. One of the team use a set at their desk and play music while working in surround sound. So it's not full on Dolby Digital etc obviously, but for under $100 these speakers pack a punch and can suit all kinds of devices via 3.5mm or RCA

cool. ordered. hopefully should come in time for xmas :)
dont worry, they use AaE. it usually takes about two-three working days to get your place.
Based on my experience ordering from LTS, I usually get it the next day or day after (the latest).
on this SKU we will start shipping on Tuesday .
bought! Thx for Bing Lee's system glitch last nite otherwise would have paid $6 more :) , 2 x Cuppa, Nice one !!!
Don't forget if you are a true Ozbargainer you would go to your local OW and get 5% off with there price match guarantee… Making it $46.55 :)
well said, but depends on how long would you have to drive to your nearest OW, fuel is not cheap nowadays :)
Sorry to ask but what is OW?
OfficeWorks
Thanks. on my way to Officeworks. just next to my office building ;)
I just did it… They only had 3 left and no prices on them so I guess some other ozbargainers have been there too :)
Just wonder are those speakers connected by wireless or wiring?! How long is the wiring?! Thx
wired with Cable lengths:
No they aren't THX certified ;)
these are just cheap speakers.may present good value, but definitely not very good quality you will expect from hifi system.
The Z506's aren't THX Certified.
For under $100 you are not only getting the top selling speaker system from our range but one of the top selling products in the market for speaker systems. It isn't a home theatre system, but check out the reviews for yourself, they punch well above their weight.

aaahh crap…I got the Bing Lee ones.
It's a shame it took Bing Lee to get this lot to lower the price below $55.
Nice deal!
Great Price. Bought one thanks.
Are these pretty good? I've been in need of some good speakers for a while now.
yeah and reviews?

Are these suitable to run in 3.1 format (connected to laptop/PS3) as I can't utilise the rear speakers ???

Discreet analogue inputs only on this thing
no 5.1 decoding inside
in summary - your device needs 6 outputs to get this to work
http://www.engadget.com/2010/09/10/logitech-z506-review/
also, use google images for z506, you'll see that there are 3 'stereo' jack plugs for the 5.1 audio input!
What do you define an 'output' as?
3 output jacks are required to run this device, Front stereo (Green socket), rear stereo (Red socket) and sub (Black socket). NB Red and Black may be opposite, I've never paid attention, just plugged the colour coded plugs in :)

im noob when wiring stuffs.
can i use this with the samsung 3d tv (around $799 mark) this forum has (a lot) recently? the 50" one.. im sure you all aware.
Should be able to via the 3.5mm line out if it has one and/or the RCA outputs if it has them.

I'm going to get these at Office works now since it will be another 5% off and I get it straight away :D
hahaha nice
Good find… Cheers
does anyone know if the base can be switched on/off?
There's a power switch on one of the speakers
The Z506's have;
- an on/off switch on one of the 'front' speakers
- volume switch on one of the 'front' speakers
- sub volume on the rear of the sub unit itself
These speakers pack a punch and can suit all kinds of devices via 3.5mm or RCA so can plug into TV's, DVD Players, Games Consoles etc and will adapt accordingly based on what is or isn't plugged in etc and/or what the source is doing.

Hmm… snatched one. Waiting begins…. Shipping begins on 13th, hopefully it gets here before christams.
You will for sure get before Xmas. And remember We still have stock and the Cart works :)
can you make a deal on the logitech illuminated keyboard (the wired one)?
LOL, I want a better bargain on MX5500 :)
I think you have to get Bing Lee to do a sale, then LTS will follow suit :) …
Thanks will make a great Xmas pressure for the bf
got one!
Oh dear….too good a deal to give it a miss. Got one. Thanks for sharing.
Got one from officeworks AUD46.55 no waiting no shipping gooood price.
Can you provide you receipt?
also how did you ask to match up the price?
Finally got it from Officeworks in $46.50 from Collins street. he did check with them if they have stock then only he gave me the price match.
I am glad that I decided to go in lunchtime.
Thanks super_iq and musau
can you scan the receipt ? Much appreciated if you can. thanks.
Mine is coming up as $89 in paypal for 2, anyone else?
Did you try to express checkout? Best to create an account in Logitechshop (or login if you already have an account) and proceed to checkout.
$89 sounds like the price excluding GST. This has happened to me before with logitechshop. I still got charged the GST after confirming payment.
Yeah it was before GST, so it ended up being 98. Does it matter that i didn't create an account and purchased through pay pal only?
thank you, I got one as well! cheers,
is this just as good as it's predecessor?
Better actually - lots of small improvements etc to sound quality, asthetics etc
Check out the reviews in some of the other responses we've made in this thread and you can see for yourself. For $55 from Bing Lee, $49 from LTS or $46 from Officeworks - you can't go wrong.
Thanks
damn you ozbargain!…i was trying to get through to the end of year spending as little as possible…just put my camera in for repair and got quoted 1k!…grahghhhh ….
These look like a suitable replacement for my 13yr old Creative Cambridge Soundworks speakers …bought
i have the same ones. they started fuzzing a little lately lol
i remember purchasing them for around $350 so many years back…
they have served me well ;)
i'm pretty sure i got ripped off when i bought them with my pentium 100Mhz computer.
funny but had the same speakers as you Creative Cambridge Soundworks speakers replaced them with these as well its a small world full of coincidence.lol got mine for 10 dollars someone was getting rid of them
Does anyone know if it comes with the free wireless adapter: www.logitech.com/en-au/speakers-audio/home-pc-speakers/devic…
not sure but just checked the link and it says "Turn your favorite speakers into a wireless sound system for your bluetooth enabled smartphone, tablet or PC. Offer available on Logitech.com only."
Offer available on Logitech.com only
no the offer you refer to is at logitech.com when you buy at their price
No, the offer from Bing Lee, LTS, OfficeWorks etc is just the Z506 standalone. The offer on our website is only for purchases made via the site.
yeah thought so too, but the link says en-au isn't that Australia, will contact logitech later
The offers from our retail partners like Bing Lee, OfficeWorks, LTS are for the standalone Z506.
Heads up , less than 400 left so hurry
WOW…that means like, thousands have flown out the door, amazing! Hurry everyone or you will miss out.
aww I bought the Bing lee one and I paid 20 bucks for shipping too, anyway I can cancel that order and get one from LTS ?
It's been a recurring pattern here on OzBargain. If you see a Logitech item on sale, expect LTS to beat it within 1-2 days.
to be honest I actually thought it was a LTS rep that posted the Bing Lee deal, but after a second look, it was posted by Logitech.com rep.
Must be different company.
Great deal, got a set. Thank you for the find.
I love ozbargain, got one
