$273 is actually a very good deal.
Pocket 1 is still very good. Quality is still on par with Pocket 2.
Main differences.
Pocket 2 has wider fov. You can buy a wide view lens for Pocket 1 to try get similar effect.
Pocket 2 has a do it all handle, which the Pocket 1 doesn't have. You can use it to livestream, which Pocket 1 cannot do.
If you're after a quality gimbal camera with excellent low light recording, don't need streaming, and don't mind narrower fov, then Pocket 1 is a good choice.
Here's a recording I did with the Pocket 1 just a few weeks ago to give an example of the quality: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PplV_SRiAZ8
