    Was $99 in October?

  • +12

I think we just call it a oven.

  • +2

Is this the same as those Phillips XXL T H I C C air fryers that come up ?

  • -6

why is it better that the $50 one at woolworths? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/551232

ie every fan forced oven ever??

This whole 'air fryer' business is becoming an advertising con-job.

      • Have you used one?

      • Everyone should know they are just a great, convenient and efficient mini oven by now. If not, they will likely love it anyway.

      • +2

yep, all they do is add a mesh basket rather than baking tray so air circulates around the food …

  • +3

This is taking the "air fryers are just toaster ovens" meme to its final form.

    • Once fresh mozzarella made it to the households, egg slicer was rebranded too.

  • If this one the same as Big W sale few week ago, the air fry is very weak. It's not strong and quick as small air fry ( mine Philip one) .

  • +1

    3 year warranty ppls

  • -2

If anyone’s partner says “honey I want an airfyer for Christmas”… be warned, this is not what you are looking for.

This is a toaster oven and they are very different despite what this advertising claims

    • +1

It looks exactly like a toaster oven, but I suspect the difference is the air circulation (which is not in typical 'toaster ovens').

  • I had Sunbeam fan forced over similar to this for about 5 years and now got a WW air fryer after it died. I’d say the oven was more practical.

  • +2

Surely at this price point you'd get the ones with more useful air fryer features like the rotating chip basket?

    • I’m in the market for one. Got any links ta

      • Just off the top of my head the Kmart one was around $130 from memory? … If you can find one.
And I saw Kogan had a practically identical one for around then too as a pre-order for bout the same price.

And here I am shaking my own basket of liquid potato chips like a sucker.

        • +1

Kmart is half the size for same price and oos while Kogan ships in march

          • -2

@Vote for Pedro: Then you obviously aren't interested in those functions I mentioned then.

If you need size and I use that intention called the oven …

            • @dufflover: Lol. More so interested in buying something this side of never. Both your suggestions are either oos or ships in March

        • I was in Joondalup kmart 2 weeks ago and saw about 3 of these on the shelf.

  • +1

Thinking about getting one because we use our large oven often and this may be more efficient as it will heat up quicker. The only setback is allocated bench space.

    • So how often do you have to use your oven to use $130 worth of electricity plus the electricity this will also use?

    • put this small one inside the big one for storage

take it out when you need to use either

  • +4

It’s interesting the discussion about “it’s just an oven.”

From personal experience with an air fryer i do more ‘baking’ that I would in an oven and definitely use less oil. Who knows, it might be a mental thing. But if it works.

It’s like the nutri bullet/ninja whatever. I had a blender. Never used it. Got a bullet/ninja and use it daily.

    • +1

Yeah, but this particular one is just an oven.

      • +1

Surely the fan action is more intense than a fan forced oven (which I don’t have atm lol).

        • Used one of the Breville before. They aren't as powerful than actual air fryers, at least its not as concentrated, the fan vs volume ratio is just way off.

  • +1

I bought a kogan 12L one and it's absolutely humongous. Unless you can dedicate half a bench top for it, I really don't recommend it. At that size, just use your normal oven.

  • +2

Got one. My store only had 2 available.

Things awesome, such little housing and wasted space for 23l compared to kmart 3 in 1 and others I've owned. Tiny.

For anyone that needs it I've made measurements:
    46cm wide x 26 high x 29 deep.

I had the kmart 3 in 1 and this one is much better, way lower in height and a little larger in width.

Has element and rapid fast air fry too.

  • What's the regular price of this? I just read the manual on the stirling site and it sounds interesting. I also have a 10l dedicated air fryer but might complement it with something like this, unless there's a better one for reasonable price.

Also not sure how they measure the available volume, but this seems to have about as much usable interior space as my 10l.
