These guys are good. They are very reliable and turn the licence key around normally within 24 hours or less. Been using them for the last 6 years for my AV keys.

    • +2

I second that. Have bought number of antivirus keys from these guys in past few years. Will get this deal too.

      • +1

Third that. Been using them for a gazillion years too.

        • +1

Fourth that. Been using them since moments after the big bang.

          • @madu187: Fifth that. Been using their services for my AV since before big bang even started thinking to happen.

  • How does this compare to ESET?

    • I switched to ESET after using Kaspersky for some years. Prefer the firewall setup and interface.

These guys have ESET 3 devices, 1 yr for $12 at the moment.

      • Might look into this for next year, thanks 👍

I also switched to ESET. Kaspersky’s popups annoyed me but ESET does a great job of staying inconspicuous. Plus there was that Kaspersky Russia hack a few years ago that made me wary of their security.

      • You can suppress all popups in Kasper.

Is complimentary FSB surveillance included for this price?

    • When you buy Kasper's license, you actually hiring them to keep you safe online, easy ! :-)

Will I get Novichok poisoning from this

As a IT guru, only 2 services are purchased, 1
YouTube membership through VPN $2/month, 2 antivirus. Those 2 cannot be compromised. All the rest are cracked, torrent, & work arounds

    • +1

Why would an IT guru need antivirus software?

All the rest are cracked, torrent,

Ah, running Windows software from unknown sources? I guess that's why :-)

How did you become a guru?

Is there really any need for antivirus if you keep your windows updated now a days. I used to have antivirus in all my PC's before windows 10 but not anymore and it has been virus free so far.

PS: I do basic web browsing and office work on PC mostly

    • I see where you're coming from but I'm still on Windows 7 for compatibility reasons with my sound engineering programs and outboard gear.

    • Nah.

People make money from phishing scams these days because internet usage is so common among nearly every demographic - including children, the elderly and normies. It just makes it so easy because these people aren't very discerning or savvy when it comes to protecting themselves.

Just make sure to update your Windows security and also put 2FA on anything you wouldn't want compromised.

Had to switch from Kaspersky as it was blocking yahoo mail ads. Yahoo in its turn blocked the access to emails. Switched to Bitdefender and no issues with yahoo anymore.

Apparently, it is quite a common issue with Kaspersky as per some forums…

If anyone's curious about the reported links between Kaspersky Labs and the Russian government, there was a good write-up on Toms Guide here:
    https://www.tomsguide.com/us/is-kaspersky-safe,news-25983.ht…

Short version: most likely perfectly safe to use if you don't work for anything that could make you a target (government, defence, finance…). If you work in a sensitive industry you should probably steer clear.

  • the current client (2021) is bad. I'm sticking with last year's client (2020).

Now, every time you insert a USB drive, it will automatically scan the drive, and then report what it finds on the screen, and won't close itself. If you plug in and disconnect a lot of devices, you are going to have a ton of these windows, and there is no option to either disable scanning, or hide the report. So you will get spammed with these and have to manually close them. They also steal focus, making them doubly annoying.

It also blocks a lot of sites that the previous client didn't block. There's no way to disable this blocking, even when I turned off web protection.

Switching back to last year's client fixed this. But once my sub runs out I'm going to switch back to Bitdefender just to teach them a lesson. I've been using KIS for about 8 years now, having come from BD. This 2021 client was the straw that broke the camel's back.

These guys are charing a 2% Paypal surcharge now. They didn't used to. Also, I'm pretty sure this is against Paypal's TOS.
