How long will this take to arrive?

    • +2

The free shipping says 30-50 days which is completely normal for snail mail from China. I typically get all my orders in a month.

      • +23

The actual parcel or the packet of data?

      • +80

        so it doesn't comfast?

      • +2

Everything I've ordered since Aug has taken 2mth. :(

        • COVID?

        • For bigger things I will pay a dollar or 2 for ePacket.

          • @Clear: I duno the options. Things that say 14days to 50 days all took 2mth+. Even guaranteed within 1mth stuff. Whatever.
except 1 seller, whose stuff came 1mth, even default ali shipping.

            • @furyou: Yep it does depend on the seller and what method they really use unfortunately.

      • -6

The Chinese will hold it up at the border like every other Australian order, communist fascists

        • +3

You're on the wrong website then.

        • Don't order lobster or red wine.

      • +1

        $1.99 for epacket express postage

    • +1

      It will comfast

  • I lost my Logitech (https://www.amazon.com.au/Logitech-Living-Room-Keyboard-Wire…) dongle. Can I use this to replace it?

    • +2

Different kind of dongle. For that you would need a Logitech USB Unifying Receiver.

      • Ah, thanks!!!

        • +1

They can be hard to find on their own so finding a cheap Logitech product that uses one would be a good idea too.

          • +1

@Clear: Cheap stuff doesn't come with the unifying receiver. Only with it's own dongle.

            • @timps: This is OzBargain.

                • +6

@NobalaKoba: Where did I tell them to replace their device? Where? I never said that. Rather I said the adapters can be hard to find so finding a cheap Logitech product that uses one would be a good idea.

Now OzBargain license guy. Tell me where does one find cheap products? OzBargian.

                  • @Clear: Cheap stuff doesn't come with the unifying dongle though, they come with a dongle that only works for that particular device.

I'll have to check out this OzBargian site you mention sometime.

You can find "Logitech USB Unifying Receivers" only on eBay or AliExpress.

or, just go on eBay or Gumtree, and look for Logitech M325 mouse,
and that's the cheapest way to get the USB receiver and a mouse :-)

  • got it; thanks Clear! would come in handy in case if I've decided to go with non-WiFi Motherboard.

    • Keep in mind the range will be low and it won’t be good for latency sensitive things such as playing games.

      • i don't play games online; pure offline born & bred.
but i hope downloading games from Steam won't be an issue LOL

        • No that should be completely fine.

  • Sure why not… think I still have some pi 1 & 2 kicking around

    • Not sure if the MT7601 is supported. I would check as it used not to be, at least. The cheap price probably means it isn't supported easily.

  • +1

Thanks op, has anyone tried this on Mac?

    • +1

Why would you need one? All macs have included wifi cards since iBook G4

      • this is cheaper then any wifi module / card

      • If you are making a hackintosh then you need a card that works with it.

    • +15

You linked the exact same as what I posted and took out the GST.

    looking wifi 6 adaptor…….

    • +4

      for two dolla?

      • nah, I'd give tree fiddy!

  • +1

sorry but what does it do???

    • Plug it into a PC and you can then connect to wifi.

      • my employers IT Dept will notice is asap right?

        • +5

          Depends how competent they are.

  • -1

how is this so cheap, will it steal my memes folder?

  • +3

I wish there was a 5GHz USB WiFi dongle that was as 'cheap'.

    • I'm after the same. Shit 2.4 GHz doesn't reach the other side of my house

      • +16

2.4ghz should reach further than 5ghz. What you mentioned doesn’t make sense- is your router/modem newish?(last 5-6 years purchase)

      • Relocate your router to the centre of the house rather than one side.

      • +5

2.4 GHz travels further than 5 GHz

        • That's true..

          • @D6C1: The problem with 2.4ghz is interference, from wireless phones, microwaves etc

  • What rates does cashrewards convert the USD cashback to? The FAQ section on their website is so vague

published bank exchange rates and include foreign exchange fees

Can this mean that paying in AUD instead of USD via a no-fee mastercard is cheaper overall?

  • 2.4GHz is so congested these days in most urban areas it's almost worthless. I'd be looking for 5GHz support at a bare minimum. But if you live on a country acreage, yeah, this should be OK.

  • Is 150mbps considered fast these days..?

I have an AC1200 adapter that works 'ok' - would this be better/faster?

  • +3

Has anyone had any experience with these melting? I’ve had a couple of these generic micro sized wifi dongles and both melted under general use, made me worried about plugging them directly into motherboard mounted ports.

  • Is this just as good as a PCIE wifi card?

    • +3

No not at all PCI-E will always outperform and be more consistent, you will experience zero dropout with PCI-E

      • Why will a USB one drop out?
My USB mouse receiver never drops out, neither does my flash drive or USB headset. They all work 100% of the time.

PCI-E is only a way to connect to your computer. It isn't more reliable than USB

        • +2

Having a USB wireless receiver plugged into a USB 3.0 port with a USB flash drive next it it can cause interference. I've only had it happen half a dozen times.

        • +1

I used to have problems downloading overnight and the PC disconnecting from the wireless network and not reconnecting regardless of the options chosen in power saving. PCI-E removes the limitations of the USB bus on your wireless internet performance. My overall speeds increased from just changing over

        • +1

USB wireless receivers, particularly small ones like this can have latency and overheating issues.

  • Does anyone know which one of these would work with a raspberry Pi 2?

  • I’m confused- price comes up as $0.18USD and the transaction actually went through

    Have I ordered it incorrectly?

    • You might be looking at the tax amount

      Subtotal US $1.83
      Shipping US $0.00
      tax US $0.18
      Total US $2.01

      • +1

Strange. Got order confirmation number & transaction went through as $0.18USD. Maybe I got lucky

        • +2

          New user coupon?

          • @Clear: Wow- must have been. Good to know for other users!

  • Isn't 150mb slow?

    • It’s not great but if you are refurbishing computers etc $2.67 is a great deal for the bare minimum

    • It's fine, and faster than most internet connections so you probably won't notice if you had a better one

  • I still haven't received my stuff they i ordered on 11 November.

Most of the items left China around 26 to 30 November and they haven't landed in Australia yet.

    • I've been getting them in the last 2 weeks.

  • Err I got it for US $0.20, must be new customer discount? It only let me order one

  • +1

    Just paid AUD$0.27….

    • Did you create an account? New user bonus.

      • +1

Yes new user…. also got 12cents Cash Rewards!

        • Now that's a bargain!

    • It said that for me then I thought it charged full price, checked my bank, yep $0.28!

Cheaper than last time! - Coach Greg (if you know you know)

  • A funny name.

  • Just received mine today but can't seem to get it working even after installing the driver off the AliExpress page.
