A very small and cheap 2.4GHz USB wireless adapter on flash sale from Comfast. It uses the MT7601 chipset and has an inbuilt antenna. I keep a few budget adapters in my toolkit for those sticky situations.

Alternatively you can get an unbranded one here for only US$1.87 (~A$2.58) with the same chipset if you're not concerned with brand and potentially a better product.

AU$ based on current Mastercard rate, GST inclusive and stackable with cashback.

Under Windows 10 it would be plug and play as it's good at downloading drivers automatically. However on the listings Comfast have a link to a driver on their website and the generic has a link to the MediaTek website with drivers.

      • That can be a problem though if you need the driver before you can connect.

        • Well if you're able to come here and see the deal then you have the capability to get that driver on a USB flash drive to be installed on that computer before you connect.

        • i'd presume this will have a generic driver all ready for plug'n'play from win10. No biggie deal if you require to download it as Clear stated.

Adds Wi-fi connectivity to your computer.

      • Thanks for that. Stupid question but don’t all computers have it?

        • +5

          No. Most desktops don't.

    what sticky situations?

    • +1

I had a site where their comms rack had become a feature waterfall in the facility. The good news is that the router was elsewhere so I was able to get them operational via wifi. So technically more a watery than sticky situation.

    • such as when you purchase an aio unit from hp or dell outlet and it doesn't have the built in wifi module.

  • order it

    • Yes boss

  • Would itcwork for android?

  • i need 20 of the ones with antenna, any special deal on that ?
