So most people seen the news that HN profits have sky-rocketed to record 160% (see link below).
But has anyone wondered what that has meant for us bargain hunters?
I think as Harvey gets richer we actually get less bargains?
For instance has anyone noticed :
HN has not had a single Super Saturday sale this Christmas period?
No big Black Friday event or 10% off everything Cyber Monday event?
Cant remember last time I seen or flicked through a HN sale catalogue?
Remember the Amex credits they did every Christmas but alas none this year?
And don't they make a big deal about their free Santa photos to get you in the door but this year they seemed to have killed off in-store Santa too?!
Have they made enough money where they don't need to try and entice us with deals any more?
COVID19 and GST on low value imports (the Gerry tax) been so good to HN that they doesn't seem to need Christmas sales this year and thus Gerry can issue quotes like this to the media…
"This is like the greatest boom I've ever seen in my lifetime," the 81-year-old chairman told The Australian Financial Review.
So could it be that as Gerry gets richer, we all get poorer with less competition and less bargains? Especially when this "great boom" is on the back of massive Government stimulus spending & taxpayer debt.

If we can't beat them, join them. Time to buy an HN franchise.
