Oops, read it as $229. I better stop posting deals.
Perish the thought - the Chromecast deal is a belter and we love your work!
Finally a discount on the Chromecast!!! :P
Few days ago CBA got targeted offer, buy $100 from Kogan get cashback $30. You can use it to buy Google TV with $70. I think this is lowest.
Don't come in here bragging about deals you didn't share with the community
Someone did post that deal. The Netflix deal is probably the best of the bunch
Down vote rekt
Buying from Google for $139 with the $97 Netflix credit drops the price to $40. Most people have Netflix. It's a no brainer. The white ones deliver in a week.
Can confirm this is a better deal if you sub/plan to sub to netflix, receive within 4 working days, it work with existing accounts, and the credit doesn't have use by the same email sign in the chromecast.
No brainer is the way I went a while ago.
Are they finally delivering fast? I bought two direct from Google (both white), and they basically didn't even POST for about 3 weeks.
@MrGareth: My mate bought last night delivery expected Monday 14th. That's for white now. Blue is still 4-5 weeks… I learnt that the hard way. It tells you expected date after you got checkout not before
Great tip.
Does anyone know if it works with non-Australian netflix accounts?
I've got a Premium account for myself and three family members, signed up with Netflix India - it works fine here but still charges in Indian currency. Will the $97 credit still apply or is it likely to be pushing the friendship?
@UncleRico: No. Australian credit for Australian accounts only.
Expired 9th Dec.
(For anyone looking)
CBA offer that is…
Anyone know if the YouTube or Netflix button can be reprogrammed to something else like Amazon prime may be?
You can but you need a paid app to do so.
You can use a free app, think it's simply called "Button Mapper".
That's the one i used, but could have sworn i had to pay something for it to work properly?
Just push the talk button and say amazon prime, it's pretty quick
say "open amazon prime"
i prefer to say autobots assemble :(
Yes. I have programmed youtube button to open 3 different YouTube apps (adfree ones) and netflix button to open netflix, amazon prime and kayo. Install button mapper by flar2 from playstore to do it!
Bought mine for full price literally last week :( Can’t even use price protection insurance with this because you have to use a code to get the discount.
Thanks for this. Got a Nvidia shield for 299 with my 5% off good guys gift cards.
Fire tv stick lite a great deal too at $45
Use Latitude Pay to knock $20 off Google TV (or anything over $60) > net $69.10 (40 hours left of this deal).
Thanks. Latitude pay / pay day loans is cancer imo but got it for this deal.
I do agree totally. I would not use them but for the discount.
Can pay it off anytime I think.
Ditto, I've never used deferred payment services before, but joined solely for the promos.
Additionally, there is absolutely no effort or risk of late payment because it automatically takes the money out of your credit card.
Latitude performs a credit check so I'm not sure if I want that hit :/
Yea it does. But it's the same as applying for a credit card or anything else. As long as you don't get rejected it doesn't matter.
@Herbse: Having any kind of payment scheme in your credit history will negatively effect your future credit, especially for a mortgage. Think about it. If you were going to lend money to someone and you found out that they buy everything on credit and never seem to have the cash up-front to pay for things, then how secure would you feel about lending them money?
@Alistair79: Like I said. It's much like applying for a credit card. I can't imaging too many, if any people who have been rejected for a loan because they have a couple of credit cards. There wouldn't be many people with a loan then.
If I'm wrong then I'm happy to change my opinion.
@Herbse: As a mortgage broker, the first thing that I tell my clients is to get rid of any and all credit cards that they do not ABSOLUTELY need. I can tell you that many, many people are rejected every day due to having too many credit cards and/or a bad credit history.
@Alistair79: Thanks, seems like an obvious thing you to state. So It's a good thing no one suggested people should have multiple credit cards they don't need or have a bad credit history.
@Alistair79: Seriously, the banks looove giving out mortgages. Don’t sweat it.
@Alistair79: what if I use credit cards for the points and perks? and not for the credit. why would i pay cash?
I've just purchased the Chromecast with Latitude Pay … As above $69.10. Once purchased, I clicked on make payment and payed it out in one go.
Minus another $1.82 Cash Rewards = $67.28 final price
does latitude pay do a credit check?
Yes at the time you apply for an account (like any credit/finance provider).
How?
Choose Latitude Payment at check out.
Nice one. Bought. Thanks.
Chromecast with google TV was also $88 at instore at Harvey Norman yesterday (Thomastown).
Did they have the other colours, or just the white (snow)?
Just the white, but I didn't ask or have a good look around :)
The other two colours (pink and blue) are exclusive to the official Google store.
Doh! Thank you, saves me hunting around. I wanted a pink and blue for the kids, so I'll just order two of the netflix deals :)
Is this currently the cheapest Shield Pro?
Will JB price match?
Ask and please report back
Buy with Latitude Pay Extra $20 off and also don't forget 3.5% ShopBack.
Thanks mate! Just bought with Latitude pay and logged onto Latitude to pay off the owing payment.
You pay it off under 24 hrs they going to lock your acc lol. Happened to me.
Haha that’s fine by me. But yea I’m sure you could get it reopened.
Not sure if it's worth getting a credit check hit from Latitude pay for the $20
only if you intend on getting a loan of sorts in the next 12 to 24 months right?
And you plan to not pay the $69.10
Unfortunately the chromecast only does dolby vision on Netflix, not on Disney+ or Prime or anything else. This is a known issue…
fixable with software update? or not
Yes, whenever Google feels like updating it.
I am having trouble establishing a 5GHz connection with the network, it is slower than my first gen apple tv.
Need help: Just got confused which one to buy chromecast 3 or google tv with lattitude offer. I have old tv 1080p unable to justify another $30 more with 4k option (my tv doesnt support)
if I upgrade to 4k TV still google tv required or useful?
Has anyone got a USB-C hub for their Chromecast? I've tried a couple, one of them didn't supply enough power and kept rebooting, and the other one doesn't read my FAT32 hard drive for some reason (though it works on PC).
I haven't but watching Linus Tech Tips on Youtube it is possible, along with adding multiple devices..
Thanks. I picked up a Chromecast with Google TV for $49.10. Used the 10% off, $20 off with Latitude Pay and used my $20 Concierge credit that came through today.
Just returned my chromecast to thegoodyguys. It turns out my smart TV already had chromcast bulit-in and an external one doesn't provide any extra features at all, and it makes my apps on the TV crash all the time. Had to do a factory reset to get everything back to normal.
People who already have a smart TV can give it a pass, can't say for Nvidia shield TV though, don't know if it works the similar way as the chromecast.
Bought the nvidia shield for $294 plus another $5 cash back. How good are these things, can't believe I've been pissing around with a media centre PC for so long. It just makes everything so seemless.
Thanks OP, but the WF1000XM3B's are $251.1 after discount, not $206.10.
Too good to be true…
