First post. Been on the hunt for this kit since Zen 3 dropped. Was $250 back in October but still seems like a reasonable deal given recent availability. Limited stock via Amazon but also available at mwave at the same price + delivery

    dont see the bargain here

    • Was $90 off rrp, but can understand that may not be considered a bargin

      • Slightly slower 3200 CL16 Team T-FORCE was twice the capacity, 2x32GB for the same price recently from newegg.

    • It's going to be a whole lot of OzRRP/OzStockAlert until boxing day.
Not even sure if we will see something worth on boxing day either to be honest, but definitely keep your eyes peeled.

  • While a good set of affordable RAM due to 3600 C16 speeds, dual-rank and guaranteed Micron E-die, this isn't much of a deal given the continuing downward trend of RAM prices.

    • +1

It’s not guaranteed anymore. They can ship with micron rev b at 16Gb sticks. Very unlikely though since Australia probably has all old stock

      • +1

Ah yes you're right, also looks like they are no longer guaranteed to be dual rank either: https://www.reddit.com/r/overclocking/comments/iix1b6/16gb_m…

Wonder how Rev B compares to Rev E for OCing potential.

        • +4

Well bugger, wish I had seen this before making the purchase/post. RAM is so bloody complicated

          • +1

@Cheapcheap420: You'll be fine, it's likely to be Micro Rev E with dual rank chips unless you're getting really new stock.

In any event, Rev B or Rev E is really not going to matter to you unless you're planning on tuning in a heavy ram OC. If you're just planning to run on XMP you'll see no difference.

As for single vs dual rank, dual rank does seem to provide slightly better performance overall in CPU bound scenarios. Since Amazon has a 30 day return window, you can always install the RAM and confirm its specs via CPU-Z. If you're not happy, return it….unless of course you don't yet have a build to install into.

            • @jeefbeef: Thanks for the tips. I do have my build ready (minus a 3080 of course) so will follow your advice.

          • @Cheapcheap420: My philosophy is "no harm, no foul". I've posted some "good deals", some "bad deals" and some "middling deals".

At some point, it's easier to just post the deal and let community decide. Besides, there are people here who pretty much live to tell people its a bad deal so you're doing them a favour.

      • Amazon shipped me single rank micron rev b earlier this year.

    • I bought the same RAM earlier in the year and it was single-rank micron rev b.

  • Looks like it's out of stock on amazon

    • +$11.99 for shipping to Sydney (Still cheaper though) but not in stock.

    • Yea, like i said not the best deal but availability has been low since Zen 3. It's been out of stock on that
      site for the last month

I bought this on amazon for AUD$226 in white (it did hit $221) delivered from the amazon US back on 10 October it was on back order but didn't arrive until 1 December

  • +1

It was around $230AUD on amazon at the start of November, I'd wait for a better deal unless you need it.

  • I paid 152 from Amazon UK for 4x8gb during a flash sale on Prime Day FYI

    • I got the same deal but sadly 1 of the kits got lost in the post so I had to get a refund on half of my order.

      • ……

Got a pair of the sticks (3200/16) for $140 on Amazon UK. Easily OCed to 3600/16. This deal is way more expensive.
