      In all seriousness, the price of $99 is really good for AirPods. Average sound quality yes, but they are the best for phone call/meetings and are very convenient to switch from one iOS device to another, especially with iOS14.

      Because with $99 price, people can resell it. Just look at Gumtree, pretty sure its full of airpods ads since last Black Friday sale.

      Its not about quality. Hence $99 airpods is more popular than $249 airpods pro, because airpods can gain more profit compare to the pro.

      I don't believe when people need bunch of airpods for gifts. Even on Gumtree lots of people said its "unwanted gift", pretty sure they already know they want to resell before they buy it.

    Just like others. Tried to buy at 12pm via eBay app but just got stuck in the confirm to pay step and got the error. Leave it there, and at 2pm tried clicking the confirm to pay button and was successful. PayPal shows the $99 transaction and after a few minutes, Ebay shows it in my purchases. Thanks Op.

    Feeling defeated.

    • Refreshed desktop Chrome page like a mad man from 2 minutes before the drop just in case my system clock was slow.
    • Clicked Buy It Now when it appeared.
    • Got a pop up asking if I want to add the XCover protection. WTF??
    • Clicked NO without even reading the long message.
    • Holding breath. Heart rate elevated.
    • Checkout page returned a red "Item isn't available" message.
    • Queue shocked face emoji and more HTAF??

    All this just took me two clicks in 2 seconds and I still missed it!

    Damn you guys are too fast! Well done to those who scored one!

    p.s. is there a way to pre-decline that Xcover protection message before the next drop so it doesn't waste the precious second it takes to decline it?

        I got one step closer on the 4pm drop. Managed to decline the protection offer and apply the coupon but alas, no joy when i clicked on the Confirm and Pay button as it was already out of stock by then.

        Even 2.5 seconds was too slow it seems. Must hone my clicking skills for the next promotional sale.

      I was able to train my GF in 2 days.

    Got one even it was 1pm outside the window time. Paid with mobile app.
    I added to cart at 12pm but my PayPal was not linked - when it was all set there was not enough item in the cart of course. Waited a hour to try again and paid successfully unexpectedly. I guess someone’s order was canceled at that time when I tried. I was planning to try at 2pm.
