    Put

    STUDENTS ONLY

    in title…

Just thought I'd point this out. They listed the cover price of the magazine instead of the subscription price. Fir example, 1 year subscription for Atomic is listed on their website for $107.40 and "discounted" to $64.95. Atomic MPC do their subscriptions for $69.95 a year. Only $5.00 off. Not as big a discount as the site claims.

  • This offer is only available to Students, teachers, staff & Alumni.

The checkout form only lets you choose between "Student" and "teaching staff". What do Alumni/grads select?

What eligibility checking is there, or is it all based on "I trust you (wink wink)"?

    • everyone is a graduate these days.even though u drop schoolay yr 11, u basically r a graduate of
      high school (yr 11)

      • +5

if you dropped out of high school, you aren't a graduate, you're a dropout

      • @alwayseric
Yeah, one of my nephews is a fresh graduate of his local kindergarten; not sure if he cares about any of these magazines though.

    • Eligibility is based on an audit once a month, if you're picked you need to send a photocopy of your SID. The site's ten year's old but come Feb- it will be brand new :) In the meantime select student and enter your grad date ie 2008. Otherwise order by phone 1300 552 100

    • What do Alumni/grads select?

I don't think Alumni are eligible, at least, I can't find any details on the website, it only says students and staff are eligible…

      • agree maybe there is a change and the OP can clarify this

        Currently their website says

        Eligibility
You confirm that you meet the eligibility criteria and at the time of ordering:

you are a current student or academic staff member at an Australian High School, TAFE or university, OR

the person receiving the subscription is a current student or academic staff member of an Australian High School, TAFE or university.

        • "You a graduate of an Australian University, TAFE or other tertiary institute"

        • @shades

"You a graduate of an Australian University, TAFE or other tertiary institute"

Where does it say that on the website ?

        • +1
        • Yep - Thanks Shades for that investigation…

  • Some good deals here. Thanks for posting.

Please quote savings/discounts off your regular price. I don't see 79% of your normal price.

    • Bloomberg Businessweek
      Cover price: $475.00
      Education price: $99.00
      You save: 79%
      Number of Issues: 50

      • Normal price is $114, so hardly 79% off normal pricing.

  • Thanks, not 79% but a good deal nonetheless.

Just wish I had seen this b4 I subscribed to top gear recently.

Subscribe again? It will be added to the end of your current sub. All prices are increasing for '12.

  • If ur not a student, staff etc and still want the national geographic 12 month subscription head over to groupon they are dealing it for $44.25 for another 12 hours

  • If you're cheap you could always get your magazines through Zinio. PC/Android/iOS/buggy WebOS (yes, I have tried it on all:)).

    <-Cheap.
