Making some digital signage and some of the locations there just isn't reliable wifi or ethernet nearby. Just wondering if I had a dozen or so signs that did need wireless internet, who would be the best place to do it from? Wouldn't need much data really per device. And prepaid might actually be nice if it means I could stop paying for a device's connection while it isn't in use, and even be able to remotely top it up so it connects to the internet again automatically would be nice too. Digital signage isn't as simple as I first thought, all those broken down Ooh! Media displays with black screens or error messages or ads still buffering are starting to make sense.
Getting lots of little wireless internet plans cheap for digital signage?

I could probably get away with 1GB even, or 500MB. $5 a month isn't too bad either. Avoiding overuse charges in case a big video is accidentally pushed to the wrong screen would probably be handy.
With digital signage, it's preferable to store everything local. Only when you want to make changes then you push it.
Everyone has different use case, best way is test it yourself with something like a cheap 1 month plan to gauge your data usage.
For reliability, do Telstra/Boost with USB 4G/5G modem but management will be a PITA if you have a lot of sim cards.
If you want postpaid, you can go direct through Telstra Business or you can go private (better management and UI) with a company like M2M.That looks like an interesting option, it pools all the data for all the sims on the same monthly plan limit.
We use "M2M one" in our 4g backup routers.
- You select how many Sims your want
2 You choose how big the data pool you want
We also use M2M One, and it seems to be fine.

Do you have any idea how much data would be required per month?
The cheapest plan that I am aware of is from TPG they have a $1 per month plan, but it only provides 50MB of data per month, so if your signs are displaying video then I do not think would be sufficient, but for static images you may be able to get away with that.
With Optus long expiry prepaid I think the cheapest works out at about $5 per month. I am sure there are probably lots of others around a similar price point.
