Quick Overview

The pair is created by Frankfurt-based Ivorilla, who are selling them as durable alternatives to regular luggage. I'll say. Not only will they protect your precious electronics and undergarments from the hazards of the baggage compartment,

Both the GasCase Diesel and GasCase Fuel are supposed to retail in Europe for €100 (approximately $137).
Details

These funky travel cases have heavy duty trolley wheels and an aluminum telescopic handle (same as Samsonite). The GasCase has a petrol-resistant lining to prevent corrosion and is made from robust 0.9mm thick pickled sheet-steel. Dimensions: 47cm x 35cm x 16cm. The following styles are available: - Ivorilla® GasCase Fuel – Business - The Zip is located around the top of case. - Ivorilla® GasCase Diesel – Multi-purpose - Zip is located around the outside of case.

"made from robust 0.9mm thick pickled sheet-steel."

    What is their weight?

Capacity would appear to be only 20 liters.

I am not saying that this is not a 'low' price, but it would not seem to be a bargain at any price.

"Let us know what you think about our product range!"

Might be too heavy for air travel, carrying etc.

Not able to be X-Rayed for security checks.

Liable to attract lots of 'negative' attention from security personnel, fellow travelers, etc.

I don't think wheeling what looks like a fuel canister onto a plane is such a great idea.

Haha, was about to say the same thing, great idea, but poor execution of being designed to look like a fuel container IMO

  • Style is a matter of debate

    Some think it's cool :)

I will let you know what security thinks when I lug one to Sydney airport

    Weights around 2.6kg

Would be small enough to fit as a carry on

    • Weights around 2.6kg
Would be small enough to fit as a carry on

With some airlines restricting carry-on to 7 kilos, this item would not be useful.

2.6 'rounds' to 3, but even at 2.8 kilos it is 40% of ones allowable carry-on.

Will have to now be a Neg. from me. No bargain at any price.

      These were/are my main points:-

      Capacity of 'only' 20 liters.
Too heavy for air travel, carrying etc.
Not able to be X-Rayed for security checks.
Liable to attract lots of 'negative' attention from security personnel, fellow travelers, etc.
Weight around 2.6 kilos - leaving only 4 to 6 kilos of useable weight for use on most airlines.

At the security personels discrection, they prohibit things which may offend onto a plane. If people have been stopped for having an optimus prime tshirt, I don't think it's a good idea to risk carrying around a Jerry can ;)

    • People have been stopped for wearing shirts advertising LG's new tablet?

  • I did a bit of research,

Unless your carrying a bag (not a luggage),

Most carry-on luggage on the market weigh between 1.9 - 2.5kg

Yes this is on the upper scale of whats available. Pointed noted and hence why they are on sale.

Spoke to our distributor and they have no problems taking this to Sydney Airport international.

As you say, its up to the discretion of the security personnel.

End of day, it comes in red black and beige,

For what its worth, its on sale and at least 30-40% cheaper than comparable designer luggages on the market.
