Cheers, I've been waiting for this to become cheaper, it's also the limited edition which comes with some extras.

  • Thank, wanting to get this….

Thoughts on this game? any good?

    • +1

It is a brilliant game, shits over Troy.

      • I have played a little of troy, my first total war game played actually but in what way does this shit all over troy? Isn't troy newer?

        • +2

Troy is like a stripped down version of full total war games like 3k, shogun etc.

      • Agreed, Troy is less than a playable game.

        • I keep getting smashed on all sides by Achilles and Hippolyta. Way harder than other versions of the game. Kinda like the economy system but i keep running out of food, its hard to have more than 1 or 2 armies.

    • Great game with fun new mechanics. Really enjoyed it.

Do pc games come on DVD these days or just a key for steam?

    • I would like to know this as well. Haven't purchased a a PC game before that wasn't clearly labelled a steam key. Is this a DVD?

  • -4

    Pretty good, got 5~~~~

  • +1

already got it on steam FML

    epic game though

  • i think this ends up being cheaper than the royal edition considering you can probably find the eight princes dlc for less than $10 online.

  • I’m into the three kingdoms lore but will I like this game if I couldn’t get into total war shogun?

    • It’s worth it for the overhaul of diplomacy / character development, no agents and they have this weird espionage system.

Frontline infantry feels decentish, cavalry are impressive and archers are just as deadly as shogun.

Overhaul this game betas shogun in most regards.

Damn just bought a new laptop but not a huge gamer so didn't get a top end unit. Think it can handle this game? Love RTK. Intel i7-1165G7, 8GB Ram, 512GB NVMe SSD, NVIDIA GeForce MX330. Every spec meets recommended except graphics card which might mean a no no ??

    • Benchmark
Might play at 720p with low setting, so probably a no.

    • Most likely no. I was using 1050ti on medium at 3440x1440 and was struggling with getting decent 30fps already

      • Thanks. It's a pass

  • I should work on low settings and with good framerates

  • Smashing game

I really hope total war games go back to focusing on the battle sim aspects instead of throwing in heroes like we're playing Dota. Rome and Medieval are still the best in my books.

  • +1

Love the Romance of Three Kingdoms from Koei back in the 90s, thousands of hours well spent.
I've been waiting to try this on my Mac but unfortunately it's still $60+ on Steam

Rotk 11!!! Them days i Iured enemy army into a valley and then destroy the dam to flood them all. You can only do this near Ye city I think.

The zhuge Liang in me is soemthing else!

      • For me it goes back to ROTK IV or V? That feeling when your general challenges the enemy general to a duel and their horse swoop past each other and then the enemy fall down is just epic. Best ever feeling!!

        • That was IV. Wall of Fire.

The last English version until XI.

    • since this comes with a steam key, shouldn't we be able to redeem this on Mac?

  • ok bought it, thanks OP

  • +1

Great find OP, this is only just breaching $50 for the standard edition online

  • +1

    WoW
Thank you OP, been checking this game out earlier this year.

Im a three kingdom fans who used to play the original KOEI series (not sure if anyone still remember that version)

    • +1

I've got both KOEI RTK 14 and this
gotta say I've been enjoying Sega's total war a bit more. Though both are pretty good :) (for me) - not "tooo" overly complicated but not a washed out either.

      • Nice :)

You make me cannot wait to unbox and play this baby over the holiday season period :D

  • Can only purchase in store? OOS from where I live.

  • +1

Seems like the link isn't working anymore. It was working fine up until a few minutes ago (was browsing to see where there was stock).

  • Went in store and they have no idea about the sale, no promotion info on their system
    :(

    • Yeah the sale seems to be from their HQ so online only.

      • It’s silly coz the page used to say in store only
Then you go into store and the page is gone lol

    • Legend

  • Does anyone know if we can redeem the steam key for mac?

    • If it's a steam key it should work on macs too.

  • just managed to price match it with JB Hi FI store this morning

    • This is a great idea, wish I thought of it. Much better than waiting for the postie.

  • Did anyone get errors when activating the game?
    '' Not available
Sorry, but the following items are not available for purchase in this country. Your purchase has been cancelled.''
    :S

    • Nope just activated mine today. Which region account are you using?

      • I figured that's the case, just sent a message to steam support to switch my account region back to Australia.
