Cyber Monday (Tomorrow) - Deals

Black Friday has been pretty disappointing just like Prime Day.
Price stayed the same for most of what I was looking at, maybe people who are needed to buy big expensive items (Fridges, TV’s, Washing machine etc) had a better Black Friday.

Spent so much time on ozbargain (basically watching “new deals” page and refreshing), and posted some deals but ended up buying zero since Friday.

Cyber Monday is tomorrow, do you think there will still be awesome deals coming? Or it is all over…

I am hoping to see the Razer Kraken BT Kitty reduced to $80 (half-price), since it has been the normal price ($169) everywhere since Black Friday.
I am always think positive so patiently waiting for Cyber Monday sale.

Please share if you find Razer BT Kitty for sale.

This is part of Black Friday / Cyber Monday deals for 2020

I got an sms this morning from ebay saying Black Friday has started. Good to see they're on top of things.

    • Black Friday starts on Sunday 29th for eBay.
That’s strange but thanks I will have a look.

      • I guess it's one way to separate yourself from the competition. Brave to hope customers still have as much money left to spend though.

        • Yes well I think there are plenty of people in a similar situation.
I set aside around $100 to spend on BF, but all the $10-$40 products I was looking at got zero discount.
So now I thought I will spend $60-$80 on the Razer BT Kitty. But maybe it is too expensive as well.
Oh well I save all that money I guess.

Thanks for sharing about eBay though, I found the BT Kitty for $135 Delivered after code. Still too expensive though for what it is, so willing to wait for half-price.

  • Sales are one thing, getting in time before stock is sold out is another thing completely

    • But if the item has 0 discount might as well wait until another sale for it to have actual discount. Most items I looked at price is normal (RRP).

  • Typically sought after items don’t go on heavy discounting, they sell without it. There is usually very few bait items (eg $349 switch, AirPods pro) to attract people to stay around (like you have?). You see eBay does the same with the limited quantity with eBay plus…

I wouldn’t get my hopes up.

    • Typically sought after items don’t go on heavy discounting

Actually I would say cheaper items have zero discount, most of what I looked at was $10-$40.
Prime Day & Black Friday seem to reward those who spend $100-$200+.
(Items like ANC Headphones, which go on sale every month anyway)

Best discount item I found during BF was the Beyerdynamic Lagoon Traveller for $249 Delivered. ($599 $449 originally). That’s almost 50% off (50% of $449 is $225) which I expect from Black Friday (at least in the US Black Friday is known for 50%+ off).

Here is an example, says $24.99 $18.99 but it was $18.99 for months before Black Friday.

I got the previous book for cheaper than the kindle version (kindle: $14.99 book was cheaper than: $9.99 possibly 6.99 or 8.99) and this was on a regular day.

You are setting yourself up for disappointment if you are only looking at one specific item and hoping it will be 50% off.

Also these were pretty similar to what you are after, but looks like you missed out.

    • Thanks for sharing but that’s a different model.

I was looking at a few cheap items originally but they are also zero discount (price literally stayed the same since Friday).

Even though other items they are selling are discounted, they exclude cheap items.

Yes thanks had a look but still too expensive even after 20% discount.
Like many ozbarginers say “prices are jacked”.

      • its Razers official store and its RRP..

reason why not many discounts is most likely due to increase in cost price as a result of supply shortage

        • This is the first year I am interested in Prime Day & Black Friday (yes I am late to consumerism), and so was spending a lot of time on ozbargain.
Maybe because of pandemic as well both sales was just disappointing.

  • I agree sales were disappointing. Most of the discounts I received was because of clicking Through SB or CR rather than the retailer themselves.

My opinion is cyber Monday will be either the same sales (retailers just having those sale items for the whole long weekend) or even not as many.

    • Or maybe sales for cheap items?

I noticed that $10 bonus from CR, but forgot about it.
Had zero products to buy anyway so I see it as saving money by missing out (probably would have made a impulse purchase).

    • Most of the discounts I received was because of clicking Through SB or CR

The best deals I have gotten are direct from retailer (real discount).
Getting some money back on Cashback is basically breadcrumbs compared to real discount (especially on cheap priced items I shop for).
Also Cashback is just part of the ad commission so basically the retailer is offering zero discount. I think it should be just called “Cashback” instead of “discount”.

      • I agree… 100%

I guess my point was, for the stuff I wanted to buy, that's how measly the discounts were from the retailers… =(

        But ymmv I spose

        • for the stuff I wanted to buy, that's how measly the discounts were from the retailers

          Yes I agree.

  • setup an alert for said product on OzB

  • Black Friday has been pretty disappointing just like Prime Day.

Seems like expectations is the issue here. Black Friday was never about popular products going for cheap. It was an excuse to discount and shift the products that couldn't be sold all year long to make shelf/warehouse space for new incoming products. Somehow it's morphed to people expecting everything for crazy cheap prices…

I am hoping to see the Razer Kraken BT Kitty reduced to $80 (half-price), since it has been the normal price ($169) everywhere since Black Friday.

    ^ LIke that.

    • I think Razer BT Kitty is more a niche product, and also selling less because it is a BT headphone missing the PC software & gaming ability sold by a gaming product company.
(a lot of negative reviews complaining it works badly with PC & gaming etc)

Also I found this 50% off Razer sale from beginning (January) of this year.

Which tells me they can easily afford to make the headphone half-price, and that’s closer to what it is actually worth.

Oh well Cyber Monday is nearly over and the best price is only 20% off so that’s a pass.
I posted it as a deal in case others were thinking of buying it full-price.
