    • Lol how un-Australian. Glad to see fellow Aussies down voting the shit out of you. Putting the "look of your street" over promoting a friendly neighborhood and giving kids an option for exercise is pretty sad.

      • Play all you want, but on your own land. Brought/rented a block too small? Not your neighbours problem.

        • No thanks. I'll leave it on the street where my neighbors and their kids can enjoy it too. My neighbors would be upset if I moved it they use it more than I do. We are lucky we don't have any un-Australian (profanity) on our street.

Great value and quality at this price. Had it for 5 years outside and it's still structurally good. Recommend. Don't buy the cheap ones on EBay with slim poles.

    • Or the $79 Kmart Basketball system - not bad to start with, however thin steel on the pole means at 3.05m it already has a lean. And the net on ours broke in the first couple of weeks…

I've had a few different spalding systems and you really get what you pay for in terms of quality. Permanent mounting (rather than these entry level mobile units) can make a big difference in terms of less shake and less squeaks/rattling.

If you are going to leave them outside, I'd suggest a few things :

    1) Go over the backboard frame very carefully - and any little drill holes or equivalent no matter how seemingly small that could allow water to enter the frame you will want to fill with silicone. The frames will rust out from the inside-out if water enters them and this is not covered by warranty. If the frame does rust out, you can contact spalding and they can send you a whole new backboard at a somewhat discounted cost.

    2) If you get the height adjustable ones that have the springs, jimmy up something to sit over the springs - I cut out a plastic bucket. It looks ugly, but it stops the springs rusting out.

  • Just giving a review of my experience with a purchase with Spalding.

I bought this system in November but had several issues with assembly. The support I have received is about as good as I could have hoped for.

Originally, the poles didn't fit together so I had to get new poles sent out which took roughly 4 weeks. Upon arrival of the new poles, the entire pole system was backwards.

I contacted support asking for a refund and they were happy to oblige.

Ideally, I would have liked the system to go together properly when I first got it home but after having multiple issues with manufacturing and Spalding offering a full refund, I am happy with that outcome.

I wouldnt hesitate to recommend this product to family or friends as the support I have received has been about as good as I could have asked for.

At this stage, I am waiting for the refund to go into my bank account but I have been told it has been approved by the finance department.

If anyone has any questions about the whole process, I would be more than happy to discuss.

    Cheers
