Not as good as some of the recent tv deals, but might still be an option for those who missed out…

1 HDMI input?!?!?!?
each HDMI input would add what, $2 to the manufacture price of the unit?
It seems that the companies are deliberately removing HDMI ports so that the retailers can upsell you at the point of sale.
Similar to Apples strategy of charging huge amounts for extra memory in ipads etc I guess when the difference in manufacturing cost is nowhere near the difference in retail cost.
According to the spec's on LG's website it has 2 rear HDMI inputs and 1 side HDMI input:

aah yes, in that case +1 for me
Those hdmi hubs are cheap shouldnt be a deal breaker.
+ve for red dog lol
My sole reason for commenting on this TV. YEWWW RED DOG!
Also has 1 side HDMI. Making for a total of 3
Also be aware that it's 3D is shutter glasses not LGs new Cinema 3DI doubt we can expect cinema 3D for this size/price for a while.
I think that's a great deal, it has a LAN port, is 3D and comes with a pair of glasses.
+1 for good refresh rate
798 for a 50" HD 3D - great price -
any1 knows if this deal is online only?
it is instore too.
edit: no idea about delivery though, i picked mine up in a van.
Heh, just bought 3 of these 2 days ago, hadn't made a post about it as it had been available for almost 2 weeks and figured it had already been done.
+ve for sure.harvey norman have this in stock at the same price
http://www.harveynorman.com.au/lg-pv-full-high-definition-pl…The good guys are also advertising at the same price.
It is also available in store at JBHIFI (ie it's not just online).
Still a bargain, looks like everyone is price matching each other though.
Had for $750 from the Good Guys according to whirlpool.
got a link from whirlpool?
wifi ready?
according to their specs, it doesnt mention anything about wifi or internet tv.
Bought this two days ago, after haggling the price down to $750. Can confirm that a) wifi ready with $39 LG dongle, b) 2 rear and 1 side HDMIs, and c) very nice picture. Only point to mention is that LG plasmas still use shutter-based powered 3D glasses, which cost more than the simple plastic ones that LG LCDs are using more these days. Not a massive issue unless you plan on having 3D movie nights. Overall super happy with the deal though!
agree
awesome buy for $750 - as thats what i paid….
by this rate, I just wait another 12months and buy a 50" full HD 3D @ less then $500 :D
Yes, or likely less than 12 months.
yep I will be waiting a bit I think, unless there are some good deals at boxing day sales. I want a 40-50" full hd 3d TV in a good brand under $700. Considering the D550 Samsung was $699 I hope that will be even lower.
LG…hmmm not the best brand for TV's
Steer clear of JB Hifi online.
Worst delivery for large items I've ever experienced of late.
Ordered a yamaha home theatre pack on the 31/10 with the website stating it was in stock, paid via gift card and thats where the progress stopped.
Status was then changed on the website to 'order now - awaiting shipment'. This is despite many stores (including the chadstone store rthings ship from) having stock.Emails are replied to by generic 'we are experiencing delays from of warehouse'
I have this TV, I paid $1200 and that was with a $200 gift voucher from WOW bout 6 months ago
It's a really great set, I have had a few TV's and I know my sh*t when it comes to TV's
Can't beat this deal for value. Only catch is it has no wifi capabilities, LAN only, even with the wifi adapter…
Found that out the hard way…
haven't been paying attention to recent tv deals but this one seems pretty sweet
