There are lots of negative reviews. Pay a bit more and buy the Breville brand.

    • the target site shows 4.7 stars from 72 reviews. That seems good to me. I dont see how you can go too wrong with a waffle maker, as long as its non stick then its all in the recipe you make. Its like having bad pancakes and blaming the frypan.

      • This is the best waffle maker on the market. I bought one 3 years ago for $110 used it daily and made 10/10 perfect waffles.

        • It's twice the price what do you expect though?

Nice. Ive got the breville crisp control (https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/breville-the-crisp-contro…) and it makes perfect waffles to. Making more at once woul dbe nice but i dont think any other bells and whistles would make the waffles taste any better. I never adjust the heat, full heat and then just cook it for a certain time.

  • I bought one few weeks back. I signed up target newsletter to get $10 off. It makes great waffle!

It's ok, but not perfect, I bought this and the timer starts prematurely , just have to leave it in a few seconds more.
But this is the usual price, not really a bargain.

Anyone got any feedback on waffles sticking to these things? I had a waffle iron and it was a pain… even though I swear it was non stick

I have a Breville Waffle Maker, and my waffles comes out amazing all the time. For yeasty waffles, I use chefsteps recipe, and I have my own buttermilk recipe which is mostly pancake recipe.

I bought Breville after going thru few cheap one's and had issues like sticking, uneven heating, saggy and thin waffles. I like my waffles crispy and thicc.

      • Overnight yeasted waffles is where it is all at!

Fermented overnight, then add egg yolks and fold in whites ( beaten to meringue consistancy).

    • Same. I think it's a combination of the batter recipe, the temp of the iron and the shape.

The cuisinart vertical waffle maker looks well reviewed though!

        • +1

The problem with the vertical model is that you are limited to making waffles that have a very runny consistency because the mixture has to be poured in like a liquid.

    • put some melted butter in the batter, it’s what you do with crepes to stop then sticking to steel pans.

      • Good tip. Either way I might give up on my one sided waffle iron… beats the hell out of me how it’s supposed to work when the bottom gets burnt before the top gets cooked.

  • Purchased this with a $15 newsletter coupon in Feb this year (came to $54). I didn't want to pay the price for a Breville and we have made heaps of waffles during this period. no issues with sticking or uneven heating etc.

    This is a great machine.

Just to note that this is the normal price of this unit from Target.

Sorry man, I see if i can find some great deals

      • +1

IMO it is still a good deal. I don't have a direct comparison to say it is better than some of the competitor products recommended in this post, however it does the job well and has paid for itself.

Have made a lot of waffles and have found that the trick is in the preparation. You need to have a good recipe.

        • That sounds good, thanks for the feedback man, i probably need to look at the recipes

  • I am interested in the difference in these and what qualifies as a good waffle iron over other? I have a Cuisinart, always wonder if I was going to get better waffle if I buy the premium Breville or something like the listed waffle iron.

    • I had Cuisinart model before I upgraded to Breville. And waffles come out amazing every time with Breville.

No. The taste is in the recipe. Sure a different waffle maker might have things like timers, ability to cook more at once etc. All a waffle maker needs to be is heat above and below then its all up to you to control the time, heat etc. As long as its non stick then you should be able to get a good waffle out of any maker as long as your recipe is on point.

      • Indeed, even consistant heat, and preferably one with a deep mould which will give you more surface area for the batter to become crisp against , and ultimately hold the syrup once done!

  • being square rather than round, you can make extra and heat later or next day in toaster …..haven’t used my round waffle maker since i got a square one, and i like to eat waffles every day but not make them everyday. they also freeze well.
