  • Noticed that google search and shopbot shows prices have gone up for bikes, so beware, free shipping, but probably inflated prices to match…

CRC is good, really fast delivery to Auz! :)

in this matter i rather support local store !

    • +3

Yer so would a lot of people if the local stores wouldnt charge us sooo much

      • +1

If my local store was even double the price of CRC, I might go there more often but it's more expensive than that with less choice.
Plus I'm from N.Ireland so supporting a business from home ain't bad :)

      • some local bike shops will price match

i found a pair of shimano m161's on crc, was about to buy but thought i'd first visit the bike shed at mortdale (tbsm) to see the pair of shoes and try it out. their customer service was good and they price matched - WINNER! (tbsm original price approx $170, reduced down to crc's price including shipping approx $100).

    • @frewer
And you can, cyclingexpress for example will price match Wiggle / CRC and apparently PBK as well.
      http://www.cyclingexpress.com/pricematch.aspx

Free delivery for orders over AUD100 (usual caveats) which isn't too far off PBK $50 and CRC $86 or so.

  • Thanks :)
Decent prices on some camelbaks, and they also have MX gear!

  • Thanks, good find, CRC had temporarily lowered their free shipping barrier to $150 a couple of weeks ago, but free shipping is awesome. CRC delivery is - between 2weeks for parcelforce with tracking or 3 weeks by post.

Their prices are marginally higher than Wiggle but to be able to provide free delivery from UK to Aus (and still make a profit) makes me wonder just how much we are being milked, even after factoring the uncontrollable 10% GST, locally.

Also check out http://frugalrouleur.com/ for comparing prices between Chain Reaction, Wiggle, ProBikeKit, Ribble and Evans Cycles.

    • Hey mate, you still got that ThinkPad 170W AC adapter? Send me a message.

  • Thanks. Definitely got some great deals. Didn't know about these guys!

  • How long does it take for them to ship out the item. Mine says in stock, puchasded yesterday and it still says processing

    • It depends on the time of day you buy online. They are in the UK remember.
I usually expect stuff from CRC within a week, can range from 4 days to about 8.
They might be busy with coming up to xmas and with this free shipping offer.

      • My order was made on the 29th November and still says processing. Everything was and still says in stock.

  • ok thanks
Just fingers crossed it comes in time for XMAS

  • +1

sucks that you cant stack XMAS and AUD coupons (i dont think you can redeem voucher and apply discounts together either =[ Will post back confirming).. still, better than nothing!

I find that XMAS50 coupons give you the best bargain factor.

If anyone plans on buying about GBP100 worth of stuff send me an email (through my profile), I may have an XMAS50 voucher code that I would be willing to sell for GBP30 or about AU$45. This would give you an effective GBP20 discount that is better than what the UK15 code offers, cheers!

    • -4

dunno what's with the down votes, isn't giving a better discount than what's on offer a good thing? failbargainers.

      • +1

Offering to sell a coupon giving 35-off for 30 is hardly a generous bargain. An even split of 17.5 would be more fair. A discount coupon is not a gift voucher.

        • I don't think you understand the math. My offer was essentially the equivalent of a "UK20" code which would give GBP20 off a GBP100 purchase, with the other person paying a minimum total of GBP80. What I don't understand is how this is not seen as better than a UK15 code. Also where did I say it was a gift voucher?

Here's the 'UK15' code compared to my "UK20" offer:

          UK15/UK20
          Minimum basket total: GBP100/GBP100
          Discount from code: GBP15/GBP20
          Total minimum spend: GBP85/GBP80

Keep in mind these codes are meant for those who intended on purchasing GBP100 worth of stuff, they are NOT a gift voucher. Also codes are NOT stackable whether they be discount or gift voucher codes meaning you can only use one at a time. Simply saying that my offer only gives another GBP5 off as being "hardly generous" is missing the point entirely - compared to the codes on offer by CRC it would have been the best value code available.

        • It might be reasonable to sell a gift voucher at 20% off face value.

But you want some mug to pay you 30 pounds for a discount coupon, so they can end up saving 5 pounds. You're dreamin'. I suppose I still miss the point.

        • It's all just wording: take your example of selling "a gift voucher at 20% off face value", if my offer was selling a GBP100 gift voucher for GBP80 then the math is still the same and at the end of the day you would be getting a GBP20 discount. If it's too much to ask anyone here to quantify the difference between spending GBP80 instead of GBP85 then I don't even know why they're on ozbargain.

  • Awesome. Just bought a new cheap MTB handlebar… meaning to get one for a while now.
