If I'm not mistaken cheapest ever by about $10
Not sure how good Civ is on Switch though.

Every time I familiarised myself with a top/down strategy game on PC it's quite difficult to enjoy the experience as opposed to FPS. So I wouldnt be too confident in the quick decisions/move with options route but it's a good price to take a punt?

I've got it on switch and it's plain awful. Slow and poorly ported controls.
Stick to the PC version I say.

One for the Civ addict with PC and switch I’d say. I’ve got the switch version with both rise and fall and gathering storm expansions. It runs ok, but if you have very large maps, lots of civs, expect some crashes as you get later in the game.

The best thing about it is the cross save function works flawlessly (you need a free 2k account to enable this) so you can easily switch back and forth between PC and switch version. You need to have the exact same DLC enabled in both versions for this to work, and PC mods won’t work on the switch.

The Switch version is good for playing on the go or in the lounge room.

Showing as $22.88 for me… was this US pricing?

    • Shows $22 for me too now (it was $15.25 AU minutes ago for sure.
      )

Sorry guys. The price has changed to $22.88.

I had a tab with the $15.25 price open while posting this deal, but after the last comment.

I checked the tab and it showed $15.25, but after I refreshed the page it changed to $22.88 (changed within minutes).

I had to update the title, but it's got me what happened.

I actually found another tab I had open with the $15.25 price on AU page, after refresh $22.88 (it was the number one Amazon's Choice game, maybe it was a typo, and they caught on when they got a few dozen clicks in a minute, and changed it?)

    • When the price has gone up significantly from the time it was posted, the deal needs to be marked expired. You shouldn't increase the prices because it causes the votes to be misrepresented.

Sure, but it was just 12 minutes from post to price increase, and post edit with new price.

Also, I'm not in it for the upvotes, just sharing what I think is a bargain.

It seemed a lot easier to just edit the post, than expiring it, and having to go through the whole posting process again.

Tbh if I had to repost it 12 minutes after first posting it, I just wouldn't have bothered, and it wouldn't affect me, it's the Ozbargainers who would lose out on a deal as a result.

Still, rules are rules, and your comment is noted.

PS. just as a suggestion, if it's a matter of votes - instead of expiring a post when a price has increased very soon after first post, the votes could simply be reset to zero?

Which would not only avoid the lengthy process of reposting, but would also reduce the number of very similar or almost identical posts.

        Thanks.

      • As above but also if there are multiple items on bargain then expiring the post because just one of them has increased in price could also misrepresent. I don’t think there is not going to be a perfect solution.

Also deals offered by associates that could increase item prices after posting would definitely need to be marked expired. I don’t think that has ever happened??

      $22 is still damn good.

  • is this any good? Will it help me pass time in boring meetings?

  • +2

I saw the PS4 version is 69% off ($24.95) on the Playstation Store, so I added that too.

    USD9.99 are not AUD22.86 LOL!!

  • crap, that's a nice price for Civ 6 but after shipping, it's not that great on its own.

  • How does civ6 work on switch does it include all the DLC?

    • DLC is available to purchase via Nintendo eShop.

    • That's what put me off buying it on PS4 - price looked great, but then I saw how much DLC there is (and how expensive it is!) and started wondering if I'm actually getting the full game if I buy the base game, or if it's just giving me the first hit cheap and then cash in on the DLC later. Does anybody know how good / essential the DLC is?

I had the same issue with Stellaris - I saw it, it sounded interesting, but the DLC… yeeeesh.

  • Better on switch or xbox?

    • Was awkward to control on xbox but same as pc otherwise. Looking at whether to get on this for switch. Touch screen controls anyone?

      • Do the XBox / PS4 versions support keyboard and mouse? Or controller only?

  • civ 5 is better :p

  • How easy is it to control it on xbox compared to pc - not too awkward?

  • +1

Is civ 6 a good game for a gifted 9 year old? Or too hard?

    • +1

Good - will be a steep learning curve but a good challenge.

    • +1

Absolutely! I can't think of a better game for a smart 9-year old to be playing. It's kind of educational too.

  • price is back down to $18.98
