[eBay Plus] KitchenAid Artisan KSM177 Cast Iron Black Stand Mixer $583 + Shipping at Peter's of Kensington eBay

140
PLUSBF20

Found this after browsing the deal for the KSM160 here: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/582595

Almost the same price as the KSM160 in the other deal, and this one is black if that's what you're after (KSM160 black is out of stock).

Looks like the mixer itself is exactly the same, difference is it includes one extra accessory, the flex edge beater (KFE5T ~$60). Also the 4.8L bowl has a two-tone finish.

I'd recommend looking at the cast iron black in person before purchasing. I was pretty keen on buying one as it looked cool in photos. Not the case when I went to buy it, ended up going red.

    • I actually like the cast iron black more than the normal glossy ones.

    • Thanks for the tip - I've purchased already, so will have to find a way to like it!

Thankfully, he is only 20% correct.

    • Curious how it differs from the photos? Is it not as black, like a cast iron pan?

This was a few years ago but I remember the texture being much coarser than I was expecting/wanted.

This stand mixer isn't made for bread dough more than 1.15kg.

Was about to pull the trigger until I saw this…

    Review #1

"It’s beautiful equipment but not made for kneading dough in a big batch, KitchenAid suggested total weights (four, water, sugar and etc) of 1.15kg for a 4.8L bowl. Also limited run time at 6 mins and needs 20mins of resting in between batch. Also, it failed to make the dalgona coffee as the beater didn’t reach the bottom when the quantity is small."

Fair enough. When we were looking for a mixer, the Kenwood Chef XL Titanium was the other one we considered. I don't know anything about the bread dough kneading capabilities, but it's meant to be a step up, might be what ur after?

PoK also have it for a good price @ ~$720… Not the lowest ever but not far off. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-Kenwood-Chef-XL-Titanium-Kit…

Edit: Looking at the comments on this thread, the Kenwood has dough covered: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/563269
