I own both a Logitech webcam pro 9000 and I recently bought a c910 (for a higher price unfortunately). What I've found is
    1. Both these models have superb low-light performance.
    2. Quality is incomparable in relation to typical, built-in laptop webcams. (It's a really worthwhile investment if you chat regularly. Your video quality will be greatly improved even in low bandwidth scenarios, simply because the colour accuracy etc. is so much better)
    3. The image quality is not very different between these two models. I really couldn't make out a big difference.
    4. The c910 supports full hd. The pro 9000 is 720p. This won't matter for skype.
    5. The c910 is stereo. The pro 9000 is not.
    6. Apart from that, these two webcams are identical, so if you are on a budget, the pro 9000 might be a better buy.
    7. One word of warning: I've been through two pro 9000s. They seem to have some driver issues because I've experienced intermittent video turn offs etc. One has since packed up, which is why I bought the second one. So perhaps others can comment on their own experiences.

So the bottomline is, the c910 and pro 9000 are both good cams, and you may want to consider both since the pro 9000 is cheaper.

    • I love my pro 9000. I think the Zeiss lens really makes a difference to picture quality.

The saving isn't worth the hassle vs simply price matching logitechshop's price at OW.

    • Does OW match an online shop like Logitec's? Because if they do, I'll head down there rather than order from Logitec, or Amazon.

  • Just want to make a quick point . Logitech does not have Global warranty. Worth the thought :)

  • Can anyone confirm this has a 5 megapixel sensor? I am doubtful that Amazons "5 Megapixel" claim is true, as Logitech seems to studiously avoid saying the actual resolution. All Logitech ever give is the "software interpolated" resolution.

You'd think that if it actually had 5 megapixel resolution, Logitech would want to advertise that fact.

I found a few sites that claimed that the camera supports 5MP native resolution, although the sources are somewhat dubious. This poster goes onto claim that the native 5MP is downsized to 2MP because of USB 2.0 limitations.

However, I can confirm that the quality is really good. It doesn't look like a crappy interpolated resolution to me.

      • Thanks nuwang, that link had the information I was after - 2592x1944 resolution (4:3 ratio!), but only at 3-7FPS due to USB2 data speed limitations. It apparently does 1920x1080 at 15-20FPS, suggesting they just use the central 1920x1080-pixel section of the CCD for recording 1080p.

I want to use this webcam as a scanner - I got tired of flatbed scanners, scanning at about one page per minute. This camera could do 3 pages a second if I could turn the pages that fast. 2592x1944 resolution means an A4 page will be scanned/photographed at about 220 DPI, which will give excellent readability. Even A3 should scan at 153DPI, still excellent.
