Anyone Fail to Get a 6800XT on Launch Like Me?

I don't know about you guys but regardless of the 4 stores I was constantly refreshing, the first time they loaded all 6800 and 6800XT cards straight up appeared as "sold out", this was from 1:01am.

I managed to get one "pre-order" from mwave, but I'm waiting for confirmation from them as to what that means, because they immediately changed to "sold out" and my order is "processing", which according to their definition means they're waiting to get it from their warehouse.

Did anyone have any luck securing one and if so, where from? What next? Do we wait for 6900XT…?

Yeah but I've just bought an x570 and the new Ryzen 5600X so was going for that ecosystem…

  • Anyone know what a "pre-order" from mwave usually means?

    • a long ass wait till 2021

The AIB cards come out on the 25th of November and they should have more of them at that time, but loads of people want a new graphics card at the moment and the bots are strong this year. 6800XT is the sweet spot, the 6800 is a joke at the current price and the 6900XT will only show about a 5-8% fps gain, for a retail of something like $1450-1600AUD.

    • Do you know at what time we will have to hit the F5 ?

      • Unless your a bot F5 likely wont held you. PLE Computers have been doing count down timers for the latest releases. Personally I'll be hold off picking a High-end GPU till the 3080Ti is released and/or AMD raytracing for Cyberpunk 2077 is know.

  • Early days but looks like 3080 is the best all around solution, despite the Vram.

  • I just read the guru3d.com review. I've bought a B550 mobo and hope to still take advantage of the SAM by disabling CSM. Waiting for the RAM to arrive and will build.

Because it's upgrade time, I'll still get some use out of my 1080ti first and upgrade to a RX 6800 in the new year. Would prefer to have a better environment and time to purchase than the chaos on launch. Can expect problems and complains (coil whine, incompatibility) in the next 4-6 weeks, so I'll learn from that before making a purchase. And by the time I make a purchase, perhaps Nvidia will have caught up with price+performance? That SAM stuff looks like its still under development.

Same here, I pre-ordered from umart for $1049.
I will also be getting my 3080 EVGA FTW next week from PLE.
But which one is better? 6800XT is better value in term of power and FPS/$, 3080 in term of Ray Tracing/DLSS, its a tough choice.

    • You'd be better off flipping the 3080 for cost or a few dollars more, and using the 6800XT till the 3080Ti is out and make a better choice then. Remember the consoles are using AMD chips so their ray tracing will more then likely be better in the long run or at-least the same in performance.

    • Guess you are going to sell the one you don't use on Flee bay, with a huge profit? Or you could sell it to me, or another OzBargain fellow.

  • PCCG and Scorptec had them OOS within a few minutes after launch when I checked.

    • Yep. Was confirmed 9th in the queue, and got the message that I will be reimbursed.

  • looks like i got mine from Scorptec, they didnt go live till 0108, and i got my order in at 0108, time will tell, but order is processing as it did the last time i bought from them so will see. If they put me on a wiaitng list, ill ask for a refund and try again for an AIB card later. Would prefur to not ahve to pay the premium for an AIB though, but time will tell

    • I got my order in @scorptec ( for the MSI ) at 01:07 and order was cancelled 2 days ago.
