Does OnePlus 8 Pro run dual 5G or 5G+4G, in dual sim mode?

    • +2

I have one and it runs 5G and 4G, not dual 5G.

  • Reception bands listed here;

I'm pretty desperate to upgrade from my Pocophone F1 now that I'm in a low reception area. This phone is only missing 2 5G bands which are unlikely to be the bands that will give me reception in low cell areas but I'm not sure I can trust this phone to cut the mustard. OnePlus was a budget phone company and I don't know if they're using the same quality of radio that you might find in some of the more premium flagships.

If anyone knows better I'd love to hear from you

Qualcomm are the ones making the radio chipsets etc in this. It's basically to of the line stuff.

    • +1

They don't make the chips, same performance as all the other phones at the price point.
It's safe as long as you get the EU version not the India or China version.

    • I don't think there's any plan for n250 (mmWave) to come to Australia any time soon. We're way too dispersed, it's only really good in cities and mostly works through short-range line of sight.

The other missing band, n40, currently seems to only be used by Optus.

  • Trying to decide between this and the 8T. Is the pro really worth the considerable increase in cost?

    • The main things that would change your mind are slightly bigger screen size with higher resolution, ans wireless charging. For these 2 reasons, I'd go 8 pro. If you dont care about that stuff, 8T is the way to go.

      • +1

Don't forget the superior cameras on 8 Pro

    • If you find an 8T that isn't the KB2000 (CN flashed OS) then please post it here.

  • So supposedly getting the UK (IN2023) version is better than buying the CN with global ROM (IN2020) right?

    • +3

      that's for sure

  • Looks like the deal is no longer available =S
